  1. I get em for about $1.75 here at work. Hastings filter for an RX8. Need any?
  2. I worked at the Wal-Mart tire & lube express while I was in grad school. You would not believe the shit that goes on there. I would never dream of taking my or anyone I care about's car to any lube-stop place. Oh and foreigners are touchy. Be careful.
  3. I did some more reading on surface hardening, and it appears you may be correct, the only way I know is to check it with a hardness tester. Or with a big fucking hammer!
  4. Me, too  The results were a lot worse than a drip in my case. In my case it was 'hit the button, I'll be down here checking for leaks. FUCK FUCK TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!'
  5. +10 on the oil filter. You may have double-gasketed it from a previous change (I did once), or it may just be loose (a loose one or one with some crap on the gasket will trickle, but not be a high-pressure stream). It may also be time for a new oil plug crush washer. Check the simple things first.
  6. You're golden. Looking at the pic in the auction you can kinda see part #3 above, which is a schrader valve just like on your bike's valve stems. You better post up some pics when you get this thing done.
  7. This is what I find on 82 wings: As long as those shocks came off a Standard or Interstate you're fine. If they came off an Aspencade you'll have a little finagling to do.
  8. Not to mention all the 'OH MY GOD YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU'RE GONNA DIE IF YOU CHANGE ANYTHING ON YOUR BIKE' posts. That's my biggest pet peeve over there. Just cuz it doesn't have the proper brand name on it I can't use it. Fuck that.
  9. They just have a schrader valve like on a tire and you pump them up with your compressor or bicycle pump. The ones I've used are this way anyways.
  10. If they were carboned up, they'd be loose, not tight.
  11. Everything you've stated will work, however you could probably go with a slightly wider tire on your rear. I think a 100/90 on the front would be good.
  12. You tell em Steve. I did the exact same thing. I got too many complaints about my dinky indicators that I put on because of the wingrack. Listen to what he says!
  13. OH MY GOD YOU'RE GONNA DIE! ya it's normal.
  14. Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Plug! Of course there are people that say you will die doing this. I'm still alive tho. Be sure to put the plug on the INSIDE of the tire.
  15. I can't find a damn thing. However I distinctly remember looking something like that up a while ago. Shit. Maybe I need to put the crack pipe down. Hey perhaps some of the guys that went to wavy rotors would sell you their stockers? Or perhaps a set of wavy rotors for yourself?
  16. Hmmm I was just digging thru the EBC catalog too Joe. I'll keep looking.
  17. Ahhh horseshit. There is interchangeability. I'll be right back with further info.
  18. ST1100 levers are the same...altho I find it difficult to think you'd find blingtastic racing levers for an ST1100.
  19. Actually I don't use it anymore, I'm not sure why. I've ridden in the rain with it, and it'll get a little water under the plastic bezel but won't short out or anything. Good, cheap piece of kit IMO.
  20. Didja check your fan fuse? Mine blew once. On the 4th of July. In 110 degree heat. In traffic.
  21. That also fits good on the top triple, just FYI.
