  1. Proper installation of the fittings is critical. There's a specialized tool that crimps the bands at each fitting. If it's worn out or not calibrated correctly the bands can and do fail. Guess what happens next.
  2. In a pickup, a rack is really the best way. Properly secured, I suppose they could stick out the bed, or over the cab. The 16' Old Town Camper Canoe is spec'ed to carry up to 900 lbs. Which the begs the question, who the hell wants to paddle 900 lbs of gear? Dunno what the 15' Dagger can carry.
  3. ** SOLD ** Yes $400 is steep for a jacket, but this is one of the finest jackets I have ever seen. Over the years I have used/abused a shitload of gear, but this jacket stands out. Two full sleeve liners, one is made of Gore-Tex Full length sleeve vents Six large zip vents Removable sleeves CE Armor - back, shoulders, elbows Cordura 500 See through pocket on left sleeve Large reflective striping With two liners and the six large vents, it can truly be a year round jacket. Read more about it here. Full online album here.
  4. Thanks Matt, it took a couple of hours to clean up. A thin coating of road grim had helped preserve the shine. Sorry I couldn't use, but about the time I bought it, I decided to pursue a smaller track bike.
  5. I did a bit more research. I think they're the BMW Transition Touring boots, which are a bit less expensive than I originally thought. I'll drop the price down to $150. Here's a couple of links, mostly BMW PR type stuff http://www.who-sells-it.com/cy/bmw-motorra...9-fullsize.html http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/...oots/index.html
  6. Have you always wanted to own BMW Motorrad boots but thought they were just too expensive? Well here's your chance. Oh sure, they're still overpriced, but much more reasonable than the $300+ they typically sell for. These boots are new, never used. They're fantastic boots, featuring plenty of Gortex and BMW's Biomex protection system. But most importantly, "BMW Motorrad" is branded into the heel of both boots, proudly showing the world you're capable of paying an assload of money for riding boots. But you didn't, you bought them for almost half price. You sly fox. You'll still get envious glances at the rally and large breasted Teutonic women will uncontrollably fondle your boots. In the unlikely event of a crash, a heavenly chariot of Bavarian angels will instantaneously swoop down and pluck you from danger. Well not really, but they will save the boots, just not you personally. Anyhow, size 46 EU (US size 11), new, never used, $150. Here's a link to the pictures (http://picasaweb.google.com/MattInVA/BMWMotorradBoots) Use the magnifying glass icon to zoom in.
  7. ** SOLD ** Does you blackbird have a slight valve tick? Or maybe you can hear an occasional rattle? Don't waste your time fixing it. Instead, install a D&D exhaust system. You'll never hear the rattle again. In fact, you may never hear again! This is a Full D & D Chrome Exhaust. Some rust between the header pipes which can't be seen when the system is installed. Otherwise in great condition. The visible parts look super. See for yourself: Online Picasa Web Album. I was going to put it on an XX track bike, but don't need it anymore. The whole system is lighter than one XX muffler.

  13. For sale is a new, in the box, never opened Cabela's Granite Bench Rest. At Cabelas.com they charge $79.99. It's yours for $55. Thanks for looking.
  14. I have a full D & D 4 into 1 exhaust system, chrome header & mid pipes into a black satin muffler. It's used, but in very good condition. If interested, send me a PM. I can email you some photos.
  15. Never mind, it was three years ago. You probably would have noticed a bent clip-on by now. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...c=23319&hl=
  16. You're positive the rubber diaphragm is installed properly? It would be easy for the lip of the diaphragm to slip out of position during installation.
  17. IIRC, your XX hit the garage floor last year. Is one of the clip-ons bent?
  18. What?? NGK IMR9A-9H (Iridium) $11.00/each at my local auto parts store. And that's USD, which is like $2.00 CND. Your price must include installation.
  19. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn't. For fuck's sake, why does everything have to be an argument.
  20. I'm surprised you're selling it. What's next? For the record. When I saw this bike last year it looked like new.
  21. Glow in the dark stickers, I presume.
  22. The problem could also be in the left hand switch (bright/dim).
