    O2 Sensors

This question is directed towards a EFI vehicle that uses a narrow band O2 sensor to set fuel. Would the voltage values needed for the ECU and provided by the OEM narrow band sensor be the same if a wideband was substituted. In other words can a wide band be substituted for a narrow band to allow mapping without adding another bung?
  2. 25k miles on a bike with stock cans wouldn't scare me in the least. Especially at $3500

    Roofing Question

"galvanic incompatibility" See this fairly often with plumbing pipes, i.e. copper to galvanized ect. Hey it works for a while.
  4. I lost one at NeXXt. Lucky for me Joe had a spare.
  5. I really like the XX too. I actually think it has superior ride/handling when compared to the ZX14, but if I were suddenly bikeless I doubt I would go to all the trouble to build another turbo XX. If I crashed mine so I still had all the parts maybe. Getting the same kind of low end torque found in the ZX14 from an XX is going to be tough. Most likely I would look for either a new Busa or ZX14 or another XX and learn to live with a less powerful bike.
  6. Where are the coolant jackets? On closer inspection I notice that this is not attached to the engine case. Hmmm, Honda?

    Bird Won't Run

I like the way you think Stan. This has been an interesting thread by the way.
  8. On mine I am creating a vacuum in the crankcase but I use the negative air pressure created in the compressor intake. I had to make an adapter to hold the air filter and tapped a hose barb through to the inside of the filter. The other end goes to the PCV fitting on top of the motor. Stopped all that pesky oil smoke at start up too. Only problem I ran into was I needed a restrictor in the hose as it was pulling too much oil vapor into the compressor at full boost.
  9. I can't believe I am just now seeing this thread. :icon_doh: Amazing work Stan. You know you were mentioning that the piston rods did not have the holes that allowed oil to spray on the bottom of the pistons like the stock ones do. The Carrillo rods in my XX are the same, no holes.
  10. Not sure how much increase you'd see with cams and a port and polish, maybe 8 horses? Nitrous would be more cost effective. You could slap on 20 pretty easy.
  11. I guess he's trying to make back some of the money he wasted by changing his synthetic oil every 1500 miles.
  12. Nope, only good up to about 235 hp. One can use heavier springs made for the VTX. It's the same 6 spring clutch as the later year XX. I went with aftermarket VTX springs and used an earlier 5 spring XX clutch basket on my 2002.
  13. Cool another HP addict has found the fix. :icon_thumbsup:
  14. 35lbs on C16! Damn that splains alot. You aren't just dicking around with a mild build sounds like you have something more akin to eliXXirs. OK no boost. If the turbo was recently rebuilt I would doubt that's the problem. First I'd check all connections from the turbo up to the plenum. Check the throttle body mounts. Then if I remember from the photos you have an external wastegate. Check that using shop air to see where it opens. If all those things check out them look at the amount of fuel your putting into the motor, i.e. fuel pressure, AF. Definitely keep race gas in her.
  15. There are others here, or at least they used to be here, that have more knowledge than I. I do know that Hank hangs out at "the other" sight. He has a turbo carbed bird. He may be the best source of carb specific info. I can help with the "try to keep things from melting" part though.
  16. I don't know where to start. I'm really not trying to bust your balls here but if you don't understand what the AF information means you may be headed for piston meltdown. It's REALLY important. We need to know alot more about the bike. What's the compression ratio? Is the motor stock? From the pictures it looks similar to HANKSXX kit.
  17. I need to rack for the back of my bird. Anyone have any extras?
  18. Nope haven't seen that one
  19. Wrong. A PCII will work on a 2002. I have one mounted on my 2002. I use the timing retard feature that is not present on a PCIII. Now how well it works on the fuel system is up for discussion. I never tried changing fuel delivery since I do that with the PCIII.
  20. Me too. I'd probably have wanted to check compression just to be sure. fjmaze, Stick with 93 octane or better. Do you know exactly how it's set up? Intercooled? Water injection? Lower comp pistons? What turbo? Larger injectors? How is the fuel managed? How about a whole bunch of pictures with the body work and tank off. More information.
  21. They will work. The pistons are the same for all years. You shouldn't need sleeves. Northman is the one to PM on this. He will know the answers to whatever questions you have about big bore kits.

    Turbo XX

Your turbos fine Josh. Once you get the oil issue sorted out you'll see. Ask some of the guys at OzarkXX. Mine used to smoke alot. Especially after riding/shut off/start up. I'm trying to think, that was 4-5 years ago. Hasn't done it since I made did the mod.
