Pardon my ignorance but what do you mean "Moly"? ...................... Honda offers two Synthetic Oil's, with Moly and without, Honda Engineers recommend "Without Moly" for vehicles with wet clutches. I'm gonna take Honda's advice for their products before listening to some self exclaimed professional idiot on this topic!

I feel so blessed to be in the presence of such experts in this field here!..................I learned foreign metallic particles don't float around in the oil, oil with foreign metallic particles don't float around an engine, oil with foreign metallic particles can't hurt an engine, changing the oil is harmful to an engine, :icon_hand: ya'll really must stop, :icon_think: .................I'm forever in search of intelligent input, still looking!. :icon_duh:

I did some searching but did not find a dyno chart of a PCIII on an XX, Is there one here?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions here, I prefer little bits of everyday wear and tear specs of metal be stuck to a magnet instead of floating around my engine but then again I drive fast on occasion often over 11000 rpm's. I use recommended Honda Oil and Honda filter every 1000 miles.

I think you mean there is always little bits that the filter can't collect because it's stuck to the magnetic drain plug. ........................ No, that's NOT what I meant............ :icon_doh: next time you change the oil, clean the drain pan first, let the used oil settle a couple hours, dump it into your waste container very slowly leaving just a little oil in the drain pan, put yer glasses on and check out the tiny sparkles in the sunlight the filter didn't collect. If you want to have more fun, cut the oil filter open and see what it did collect. A new motor will shock you, that's why I usually change oil and filter 3-4 times before the 1st 1000 miles!

I took my drain plug into a NAPA store first oil change and matched it up with a Magnetic Drainplug couple years ago. Change my oil and filter about every 1000 miles and there's always some little tiny pieces of stuff stuck to it the filter didn't collect.

I always used premium fuel in everything, string trimmer, mower, generators. Could be my imagination but my stuff always starts, like to think the premium is responsible for that. Bought a new 88 Chevy van, still ran good with 120000 miles, felt guilty and bought a set of plugs for it, the original factory ones still looked good. My garden tractor is a 82 Simplicity 16 horse Briggs 42", use it every week, starts right up, I have never pulled the sparkplug out of it! With the 11 to 1 compression the XX has I would be surprised if it ran as good with regular. I just started using regular in my new F250 4x4 recently due to gas prices and it runs great after getting a new program for the SCT chip in it.

Don't blame you. I look at this shit I wrote and cringed... I just turned 48 today. Does that qualify for old fart status??? I started celebrating early. I have only seen 2 Blackbirds here and when I found this site I went crazy. ...You ain't alone, only time I ever see other XX's is at BikeWeek, sometimes I might see three or four of them there in one weekend, it's a shame most owners think they bought some Old Timers Sport Cruiser and won't give the bike the credit it deserves.

tapeworks.com is a licensed factory graphics company that has any type of decals and logos you could want. They custom made some for me that look good and last, 200 mph lovebugs haven't hurt them yet.

Since this reply was overlooked ( or ignored ), it's beng repeated. Sometime late last year, I ran across a guy on a Silver 02' up at the Shell Station on a Sunday morning on Beeline Hwy. I remember it had a small luggage rack and a single side exhaust. The owner was I'd venture to say in his late 40's or early 50's and very boastfull about going 190+mph. He also had a noticeable southern accent in his voice. The owner of this bike had told me that is was his second 02' and that he bought this one up in Orlando or Daytona. It was a leftover, and he traded in his old XX on it. He also mentioned that there was a pause in his riding because of a death of a friend on another bike. At least, that's what I think I remember about him. I think is was rolling on Dunlop tires too. As for Dwayne, I came away as very impressed with him. He was humble and not cocky at all. He was willing to answer and and all of my questions about the turbo install on his bike, and he even pointed out some of the cooler features of the install that were not visable to the casual observer. He's the kinda' guy that you would want as a local friend if you were to start a mechanical undertaking on your own bike that you weren't familiar with doing. More people should have his attitude. SO, do I have this identity confused with someone else or is this you?? .................................Sounds like me, seeing that 24 yr old kid take three hours to die screaming in pain laying in the ditch with visible bones exhiting his leathers and his father kneeling over him did a number on me. After the Troopers told him his son died he smacked me on the arm and told me it was MY FAULT because I was leading the ride, most horrible moment of my life............................................................ Your'e right about Dwayne, after talking with him for a short while you walk away knowing you have just met someone special!.......................A man of enormous achievements in this field................................Me, I like playing computer and forever looking for knowledge, never too old to learn. He was asking about others who have hair dryers hung on their XX's. Nice guy. ........................ too bad, I knew he wouldn't tolerate much of this crap, too bad, yall run off another good one there. Ya'll are getting carried away here.............I was hoping my Ole Buddy Dwayne was on this site, thought he was, the more I read the more I doubt it though. By chance does anyone know a man named Dwayne with a turbo 97 XX? Lived here in Palm City until about a year ago, transferred to North Fl. somewhere for hurricane damage estimates. He was present on many rides with me and will back up everything I have claimed here.

My Akro was installed on my 2001 in 2001 and the decision to buy the Akro was based on results and existing custom maps made for other Birds that had the Akro installed. You got the first ??? Pull your head out of your ass man. There are and have been many Akro systems installed on Birds in Europe many years before you ever had a Bird, if you really do have a Bird at All ??........................................ ..................Dear John:............I'm not trying to impress anyone, simply stating the facts about MY personal experience with that exhaust system, could be thousands of documented happy customers from that company, all I know is mine pushed out the fairing at the bottom and was hard pressed against the oil filter, two reasons they took it back and gave me a full refund, maybe they sent me the wrong one, I do not know the reason. I don't tell people online they are full of BS when I disagree with them and certainly wouldn't tell someone to pull their head out of their ass either............All I have done here is compliment the XX, no need for your attitude!

It's funny, I been looking a couple years for a reason to explain why I have had two 02 XX's perform way better than anybody ever thought possible. I thought my first one was just a ringer, you know, that one special bike that got assembled on a good day, broke it in fast and hard. Found this one unserviced with .04 miles at Jim Walkers Honda at Bikeweek on 03/06/04 buried in the back of the shop, couldn't sell it. Traded mine with 18000 miles, swapped exhaust and Ventura luggage rack drove it home slow and easy. I broke this one in very easy, had 2000 miles {4 oil changes} before opening the throttle. This one is noticeably faster than my 1st one, more bottom end and feels like the front tire comes up shifting into 5th gear. On another XX site last year from europe I saw a brief discussion from a few 02 owners that thought the same as me, there's something different about this year, it really accepts a 4 into 1 better than other year models. My first choice for a system was Erion, waited three weeks on backorder. There was only a few makers that would send a dyno chart, second choice was Ti-Force, backorder. The dyno chart I got from Akrapovic was identical to Erions so I went with it. After it didn't fit and sending it back I checked with Erion again the lady said they had not recieved them yet, I said you mean you don't make them, she said no!......... :icon_shifty: Did a little more research and found the name Erion as one of the owners of Two Bro's Racing and the rest is history! sorry, I got carried away again.

Well, Today the weather was crappy, and next week I'll be at a ride in Clearwater with some of those goofballs. If I have any tire left after that fun, I may be out the following Sunday. I almost never go to Bonefish on Tuesdays because of the Squid factor, and the same reason for church street................. Questions: What year is your bike.................................on my 2nd 2002, put 18000 miles on 1st one, 11000 miles on this one. Do you do your own services or have it done, and if you have it done where?.........nobody works on it but me...................... Lastly..... it's not a 99' with the word "Excaliber" decaled on the sides is it?
