  1. I would be willing to bet it has to do with a restriction of airflow across the A-coil (Evaporator) somehow. Like the last post said, check to be sure the fan is working properly, check to see if the blades are dirty, check rooms for vents that are closed (Very common and often overlooked). Some other causes that you will likely need a technician to troubleshoot: If your discharge and suction pressures are low, with a low compressor amp draw, low subcooling, high superheat, and low temperature splits accross your evaporator and condenser coils, you probably have a leak. If your suction pressure is low enough to cause the evaporator to freeze up, but you have high subooling and high superheat, either your metering device is restricted, your drier is restricted, or your liquid line is restricted.

    Brakes???

I did that when I replaced the pads. They still wear a little uneven, but definitely not as bad.

    Brakes???

Agreed on the EBC FA261HH pads. My pads were also worn unevenly when I changed them. Not major, but noticeable.
  4. What do you do about the mileage reading???
  5. DEFINITELY check for Vac leaks first, as it is common and easily overlooked. This is from a factory jet kit site. They have a bunch of tuning tips. Some are good, and some not. "# NOTE: A lean problem gets better as the engine heats up. * If the throttle is lightly "blipped" at idle, and the rpm "hangs up" before dropping to the set idle speed, and there are no intake leaks and the idle speed is set at less than 1000 rpm, the mixture screws are probably too lean: try 1/2 turn out, to richen mixture. Be sure there are no intake leaks and the idle speed is set at less than 1000 rpm!"
  6. Has anyone installed the LCD style gauges on a 99 Bird?? If so, is it a major change or more along the plug n play lines?
  7. If the carbs are synced and you have checked all the vac lines, you might try turning in the idle mixtures 1/2 turn. See if it gets better or worsens.
  8. Here's another set of fairings. A lot for shipping though... ABS Fairings
  9. I have always liked Royal Purple myself. Use it in the cars and all the bikes I have had.
  10. I just put those tires on my XX 2 days ago. They did not have any of those marks in them.

LOL. I was just being a smartass. I found that and figured everyone would get a good laugh. It's crazy what some people come up with. The sad part is that they probably sell.

    Tire Choices

That was weird that it blew a hole dead center... How big was the hole? What tires were you using when it blew? I have Mich Pilot Roads on it now. That's what I'll probably put back on it. I found them online for about 145.00 plus free shipping, not a bad deal. I must have had something go in it and pop out. It's about the size of a small pen tip. Thanks for all the input guys.

    Tire Choices

I just had a blow out coming home from work on the ole BB. The rear tire popped. Weird, not a bad tire, plenty of life left, just blew a hole dead center. Anyhow, no harm done, didn't wipe out or do damage to me or the bike. So, I know it might be on here, but I am going to replace front and rear and am interested to see what tires you all like for your XX's.
  15. tlwofe. I might take you up on that map offer when I buy a PCIII.
  16. Most of the PCIII I find are for the Euro model only. What's the diff?
  17. Seems like a lot of guys here share the same needs/wants from their BB's. I have a 99 with Scorp slip-ons, and will be adding a K&N. Do you think I would benefit from a PC III? If so, do their maps work well, or should I find a shop that will dyno out a custom map?
  18. +5....Might as well add one more. Low is on top.
  19. Does anyone know a shop that is around Chicago that is good with custom maps for the BB??
  20. Yea, that'd work. The minis will balance the load so it'll blink normal.
  21. Ok. Thanks guys. I'll give them a buzz.
  22. I was wondering if anyone has successfully used an electronic flasher in their BB. I have a 99 with an integrated taillight. It has a fast blink rate, so I bought one of these relays. It works fine for about 30-60 seconds then it gets warm and stops working. They also sent me a heavy duty one which has 3 wires instead of 2. It doesn't work at all. Both are said to be plug and play for the XX. Has anyone had this problem or know of a relay that worked?? Update: The heavy duty relay they sent me causes the tun signal fuse to blow.
  23. Since when? Thanks TJ! Almost 300 sold and only 1 returned! And he's made like $5 on the whole deal. Well at least he can now buy himself something nice....Say a gallon of gas for instance
  24. Got a set of these from Dave. They fit very easily and worked out great. When you first look at the installed, it doesn't seem like it'll be a big difference. It's definitely better and more comfortable!! Shipping was really quick as stated and a good price for the product received. Thanks Dave!!
