  1. I'll be the first to try and answer this for ya. I'm sure someone will better explain. If it's the CCT you will here it around 4000rpm. Does the rattle at idle go away if you pull in the clutch? It may be the clutch plates you hear. Mine does this but it goes away after the bike is warmed up. It may make some noise, but like you said "It's a Honda...Bulletproof!"
  2. DID ZVM 530 is what you're looking for. www.didchain.com This should be the chain that came on the bike new. You could try www.dynamohumm.com They're in Granby now, used to be in Cowansville. 1-888-822-3966
  3. Just check everything once you have the bike strapped down. I've used the canyon dancer many times. We had an XX and a ZX-12 loaded into the back of an 04 Dodge Ram Short Box (Not alot of room to play around) both bikes using Canyon Dancers and tie downs to the stock hooks. Took the bikes from Ottawa to Tampa and back ( About 5000kms/3100 miles) and neither bike showed any ill effects. Nothing but good things to say about Canyon Dancers! Cameron
  4. 10000kms = 6250 miles 1.6 km = 1 mile Eh?
  5. I had 020's on the bike last year. Got roughly 10,000 kms out of them. They worked well in all types of riding. I've got Pilot Roads on the bike now, and I prefer the 020's. I'm not overly happy with the pilots, not near the "Stick" of the 020's. Sorry not an overly good description. But my $0.02CDN none the less! Cameron
  6. Although it's on a car wheel...Gives you an idea. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9241
  7. The # of clutch plates changed in 99. The clutch and brake levers were changed slightly as they were being engaged just enought to activate the brake light when going over 170
  8. Sounds as though I need to make another trip south Rick! You can use mine as a "TEST PROJECT" if you like. You'll be kept busy doing HD pieces for your dad.
  9. Let me know if you come across a map. I have the same set-up. I plan on putting it on the dyno in a month or so to have the PC set-up properly. If you hav'nt got a map by then I can probably help you out. Cam
  10. Everything is about NASCAR in the south! If they were showing the spring rubbers on your TV, you got to see them in detail on the MONSTER screen you have!
  11. I was lucky...It cost me nothing. Actually I had the choice of two, a fellow instructor had a couple lying in his garage.(Sorry guys, once I told a fellow instructor with an XX about this, the other was snatched up quick.)

  13. I know it's not the CCT on mine, I put a manual one on the bike about 10k ago. I'm not overly concerned, but was kinda good to see others have heard the same thing...Maybe I'm not going NUTS!
  14. Well described Warchild! Through the bars and pegs....I'm not the only one! I guess the good news is that it can't be too major if you've manged to go 35000miles with out it causing havoc! It does sound like a main bearing as described, but I figure if I keep moving I won't hear it! Hope this isn't a new CCT can of worms opening up
  15. Can you put those directions into layman terms, I had a hard time following and did the exact opposite. :???:
  16. Sure am glad I did'nt download that!
  17. Like Northman, I'm in if you can get it below $100. 16.8 would be good for me...But anything right now to get the stocker off of the bike and the 900RR shock out of the workroom!
  18. My 99 XX has the same sorta knocking problem as yours(blackbd1). This just started this year, seems to do it more in stop and go traffic as the bike gets warmer. I instruct riding using the Bird and I really tend to notice it while driving around residential areas when i come to a stop. I did raise the idle a little, helped a bit but it's still there. There is no problem whatsoever above idle  ...So I'm hoping that like Maxxs' bike , it will go away to reveal a new and exciting sound for next season! :-o

    Tire advise

    Give it more gas?
  20. I just managed to get a shock from a friend for free(The best way to get something!) The part # is MWO-003, so it should be the right length. My question is regarding the spring. I know that some have mentioned that it is not easy anymore to get a spring, any ideas??? This may be a stupid question, but would the spring off my XX not work on the 900RR shock? Thanks in advance.
