  1. Well now, I think that you could be on to something here. In the U.S., the fenders cover the front and rear wheel. What do they do in your country?
  2. But you can't make it look like a Blackbird which IMHO is one of the best looking sport type bike around.
  3. The motor ran for 4 or 5 minutes at 20,000 rpm without harm?
  4. I would replace the battery before ever touching the carbs. My Saber that I had would run just about like this when it had a stone dead battery in it. Just not enough juice being produced to let it run right. The carbs might still need cleaning but one thing at a time.
  5. A lot of the guys are at NEXXT so you might have to wait a few days for a answer or however long it takes to sober up.
  6. I could see how two could be off on one side but not just one. Which way is it off?
  7. Looks like the one I have but I had it machined out and the stock bearing pressed in. Did yours have bearings or bushings?

    Oil

Joe, do you use the salted or unsalted peanuts?

    Oil

There have been many oil threads here. Try the search box, you will have much reading.
  10. Not sure about the red cap but I have been using the Gold cap with no bad effects.
  11. http://www.roadracinghelp.com/TechArticle/...d_sag_setup.htm Stolen from another post.
  12. Yes, think of the rev limiter as a door stop. You can bang the door against it all you want without harming the wall.

    1999 BB

Just add a small shot of NOS. That will pick the HP right up.
  14. Catenary-the curve made by a flexible, uniform chain or cord freely suspended between two fixed points. Learn something new every day.
  15. Myself, I would wait until it did start to slip but that is just me. I think you would notice it on a long high gear uphill pull. That is what happened to me on other bikes in the past.
  16. Two nights at the track didn't hurt it. My sons race every weekend (sometimes twice a week). When they had their CBR 600 F4i's they would leave the line with the throttle on the stop (sometimes hitting the rpm limiter) while sliding the clutch out of the hole. They went two years before putting a clutch in. And oh, the one had NOS on it. Like said, the first thing that I would do is change the fluid.
  17. Just make sure that you really need a clutch before spending money on it. XX clutches are very tough.
  18. I really like the looks of the Arka with the black can. Too bad that it don't list it.
  19. Now you can rent the tool out to us XX'ers who need it and make your money back.
  20. +1 on Joe's reply even if he is a "smartelec".
  21. Did you go to special ED?
  22. So, how did the test work?
  23. I have 16/46. My Bird is just my play bike and I don't put many miles on it at a time (have another bike for that) so I like it. If I were doing longer trips (200-500 miles), I would have stock gearing. I guess it is like riding around in 5th gear on the open road.
