  1. So I have a set of Metzler MEZ3's that are nearly new, only used on the track once. They are 5 or 6 years old, always garaged . Can they still be used?
  2. 2 Hours??? 20 mins max Loosen the axel, in small increments turn each side adjuster til the desired slack is reached, I measure from the center of the axel to the back edge of the swingarm to make sure its equal length, torque axel back to 60ft.lbs.Get friend or relative to sit on the bike while you check for proper slack under load. If all is good go ride. Never failed me yet. My bad. I just skimmed through the posts . I thought it was you that was having the problem. The 2 hours thing was from when the post was made 'till when I replied. Anyways, nothing to see here... move along. Disolut, Lot's of good info here if you can skim through my bullshit . Another Hero born!
  3. Already changed the oil and filter there Will . Got myself one of those Honda filter remover's now, So no more of this anymore... I've tried buying a new bike. They just don't make one that fits me like the XX. Maybe the ZX-14, but that's still an unknown for now. Yep, group buys and more... I forgot to mention what else is on order, flash to pass (hope that works with HID, whatever), hugger, fairing bolt kit, sliders, and few other things :icon_think: . UPS guy told me he thinks he's blowing out his clutch getting up the hill to delivery my packages, about busted out in tears on that comment .
  4. Not to but in... but do you know where that top hose (looks like vacuum) going over the top of the tranny in you're pic? Mine just lays around there, connected to nothing. Just didn't look right to me??? PM me if you know... I think I'm hi-jacking again, but inquiring minds need to know... -Obby
  5. I'm sure you've alread done the adjustment in two hours now, but here's how I've done it quite a few times... First, the axcel should be going in from left to right. Use you're socket's to get it loose first, then kick it up on the centerstand. Loosen/tighten the two adjuster nuts on either side of the swingarm to get to the ~1" slack (keeping the markers on each side equal) when you put you're big ass down the bird. Of course, re-tighten the axel a bit before testing for proper slack. Exact torque is not neccessary at this point IMO. Once you've got the right slack, torque it to the right spec's (I just do it by hand, my bad...wheel should move freely) Lastly, make sure to ride it around the block to make sure you don't hear a grrrr'ing noise (too tight) or a banging noise (too loose, hitting the centerstand). Good luck with that .
  6. So I am a little behind in my prep for the TBME. Parts still left to install... Chain, sprockets, K&N, HID, Euro light switch, winscreen, Traxxion & Penske suspension, Clear Alternatives fronts, radar detector, and perhaps a new set or rubber.... Oh damn, where's the tylenol! [attachmentid=1134]
  7. Down another 2.5lbs. I had to go buy new work clothes. My pants were falling off and shirts look like circus tents on me . I was down 3.5, but gained a pound back over the long weekend. Damn barbeque! Oh well, very happy with my progress. Is the 30-Days up?
  8. I'm telling you guys, quit scewing around with all these weird additives and just use this one... No shit, it works great for clearing out the injectors and improving mileage. -Obby
  9. Lift/tilt the tank up from the rear. The gas shutoff lever is under at the petcock assembly (if memory serves :icon_think: ). It's under there...

    Octane question

I would definately say no on the FI model do to their anti-knock sensors. My '97 did ping on 87 octane gas when the weather was hot. Some other member say they didn't have a problem though (shrug)...
  11. i use the 113-410 on my o2xx. works fine. plugged right in and can do adjustments while it is running with my laptop. i have an issue though with going rich and staying rich untill i turn the bike off and on once, but only after i have run boost for a few seconds. Thanks, but the 01 is apparently a different setup than the 02. Still trying to find a PCIIIUSB for the '01.
  12. Geez, I was all over that website. I didn't see model that model # sproket listed. Try going to this page: AFAM Sprockets Then, click on Honda and at the bottom of the Honda tables is a row for the CBR1100XX. On the right side of that row is the entry for the front sprocket. Click on it and you'll be taken to a page on which you can place your order after filling in the number of teeth you want. HTH THanks guys. I finally got the order in. 18T and a DIDZVMG chain.
  13. Geez, I was all over that website. I didn't see model that model # sproket listed. Try here to start: AFAM Sprockets Thanks. I find that website very difficult to navigate.
  14. Geez, I was all over that website. I didn't see model that model # sproket listed.
  15. Anyone got a line on a place to get a AFAM 20602-18 front sproket?

I ended up buying the $8 Honda oil filter remover thingy. It's saving me 30min. an oil change by not having to remove any plastic!

    HID Install

Looks like a nice install. I've heard other people sticking the ballast on the back of the digi dash like that. I'm just worried that they would get to hot and fry the dash. I don't recall anyone having issue though. If anyone has issues with that, speak up! -Obby
  18. Yeah, I had those on my XX before upgrading to HID. They are great bulbs. Very noticable, but not near the HID. Just the same, phillips is a fraction of the cost.
  19. You'll love them, install is a snap. Even I didn't screw it up. Here's some pics of the install I did on my '97. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...topic=25989&hl= Ps.. I just used the packing material as a spacer between the base of the bulb and headlight housing. Some folks used rubber washer and stuff. You'll see.
  20. Yes. Like Will said, it Corbin displaces the weight off your tailbone. My lower back/tailbone is especially sensitive, so for me it's like night and day. The Corbin is not especially soft though, but you get use to it. I like the GF and Lady with raised padding personally
  21. Redd... Redd... Where are you? I'm not kidding. I lost 10 big. Nothing but silence
  22. I actually had the 5300k on my '97XX. It had just hint of bluish/purple. This time I'm going with the more OEM style 4300k. They are just pure bright white. Either way, it will be night and day from what the stockers are offering.
  23. Andy ( anchiu35@hotmail.com ) is still selling the kits. I bought another H7 4300K kit for $195 shipped. If you email him, he will send you back the pricing options available. IMHO, the HID and modified suspension are two of the buy $ for $ mod's you can get for the birds. -Obby
  24. Can we still get this deal? Anyone... Anyone... Bueller?
  25. Just weighed in this morning. 213.5lbs . I've started exercising more. Mostly cardio seems to be doing the trick. That and portion size, lean meat, less eating out, ect. 10lbs lost since we started this thread. -Obby
