  1. Mike I replaced my Pilot Road rear two weeks before MiXXt with 9500 miles on it and the front tire last week with 12000 miles on it. I may be in the same boat as you around SeXXt as my six week old rear tire has 4800 miles on it now and will have another 1000 or more before middle of June. Not sure what you pay for yours, but my tire guy down here will mount a new one for @$185-190 8)
  2. Ok, I am having the new Pilot Road front tire installed tonight. The guy I get tires from will come out and change it while I am at work in the parking lot. So yeah, I dont have to go to him or lift a finger so it sounds like a good price. I got to looking at my front again and sure enough, the 150 miles I road since yesterday morning has really wore what I had left out. :? Thanks for the input guys, FYI..I got 9500 from my Pilot Road rear, 12k from front...I'll be sticking to Roads!
  3. Just talked to my tire guy...He wants $145 installed for a Pilot Road front. Does that sound about right?
  4. The hundred bucks isnt an issue. Just wanted to get the most life out of tires before adding them to my abused tire stash+ didnt want to square off a new front with the 1200 miles of slabbing+200 of twisties this weekend. I have two days to get-r-done, just takes one call to my tire guy and he'll come out to work and change it in the parking lot.
  5. I will be slabbing it to MegaXX this weekend. I expect to do 13-1500 miles in three days. Should I throw a few extra pounds of air in my tires? I have Michelin Pilot Roads, the rear has 2500 miles on it, the front has 12,000 on it...Which brings me to my nexxt question. My front has VERY little tread left on it, anyone tell me how fast a Pilot Road shows cord after tread is gone? It doesnt have any bald spots, I just dont want to pull a Maxx and end up with cord showing. It should be dry all weekend so I am not worried about that at all. 8)
  6. So you dont ride it much then... :poke: Has it been doing this since you got it? Have you ever changed the plugs? Could the air filter be clogged?
  7. I'll be demonstrating this on Rich at MegaXX....
  8. Yeah well... My fag little rubber ones hold a constant air pressure !!! Yo...dude, check out my shiney valve stems....Yo!
  9. First gear will fix that  love going past the cop in his 30mph speed trap zone at 4k+ on the revs
  10. Replaced a blown dashlight, no other problems were discovered at this time. POS Hondas...
  11. A fellow manager at work with a 97XX called me after he got home from his 6 mile ride home this morning to say the right side of his dash was dark the way home. He also went on to say the bike was backfiring "really bad" when he first started it and it seemed to clear up on the way home. Not sure if this is more than just some dash light bulbs or another electrical problem caused the bulbs to blow. His bike has 28k on it, jetted, full erion system, never has changed the regualtor or STOCK CHAIN  Can we change the dashlights by just removing the windshield or does the upper have to come off? Any other electrical issues need to be checked when I see his bike in about 5 hours? Thanks!

I bought a 2000 model for my son's birthday, anybody own/owned one that can link me up to some good sites??
  13. I figured a three year old shock has to be in better shape than a eight year old shock with over 25k on it. Plus, this one is cleaner than mine
  14. Did you leave your forks alone or drop them? Hey, Sounds like a weekend project Mike, I'll pack up that '02 shock I got and we'll play Marion County Choppers at your crib
  15. Mine was doing the same thing a few months ago. I had changed the plugs just a few months prior. With the help of a fellow board member we cleaned the carbs and made sure all vacuum lines were attached fine. Game on!!
  16. Yeah, put the stock filter in and if you have the stumble, look for vacuum hose...That should let you know what it is. I THINK IT IS VACUUM LINE
  17. check to make sure you got all your vacuum lines on, sounds like a vacuum leak
  18. Goo Gone worked great! I did re wax it as it looked a little dull after all the scrubbing! Thanks!
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT I wont bid if you want them bro!
  20. Duh!! No way in hell!! Maybe a little  Would whack off with a cheese grater before I let Nik work on my bike
  21. you got a problem with my red wings? Thanks Donnie, I'll give the Goo Gone a try tomorrow and probably go pad-less until I come across something I like.
  22. and it left a layer of adhesive on my tank. We have GooGone but is that the safest to use to remove it? The edges had all pulled up so while doing the post ride de-bugging, I just pulled that ugly pad off. I would put another one there but it may cover up part of my red wings
  23. I had enough rubber to do a few burnouts with it before changing the tire and still no cord showing through. I probably could have rode for some time on what I had left but didnt want to risk it if I got caught out in a rain shower. I use the XX as my gas saving commuter vehicle
  24. I am on my second Pilot and got 9000 mile out of mine before developing about an inch wide bald ring on the rear. I run 42psi, 300lb rider before gear
