  1. You shut your whore mouth. Carburetors are the debil.
  2. Here is the old thread. It doesn't show much detail on how I mounted the ball. Its just a piece of all-thread with a fender washer and two nuts on the bottom and I think I have two nuts on the top with a washer in the middle. The bottom nut sits in the hex opening in the steering stem. Then I just screwed a ram ball on it.
  3. If you are just looking for a basic mount use RAM stuff. I have RAM balls on all of my bikes. For the XX I have one of the brackets to bolts to the clutch/brake bracket and I also made a mount that goes all the way thru the steering head. That thread is around here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. For the base I just use a ram base and put velcro on it. If Im going on a long ride or just want it to be extra secure I use a cheapo elastic headband. I live with 3 females so those are easy to source.
  4. Pre-workout nutrition: As mentioned carbs and protein roughly 30 min before will help. I like to do a protein shake (milk and protein powder) and a banana or some other source of good carbs. Pre-workout Energy Supp: I have tried many and the one I have stuck with is called Mr Hyde. I like the Watermelon flavor. Do NOT take a full dose at least the first time. I have been taking this shit for prob a couple years now and I still don't take a full dose. I usually take 1/2 to 3/4 of a dose. Sometimes bit more. I have taken a full dose a few times but man its too much. The nice thing is that makes a tub of it last a lot longer. Drink it 15-20 min before workout. Post workout nutrition: Eat something. From what I understand immediately after lifting you can eat just about anything but getting some more good carbs and protein is a good idea. For the knots I suggest going for a few deep tissue massages. They don't feel pleasant but thats not the point. Get that shit worked out by some big Swedish woman. It might change your life. The only thing thats going to make tendonitis go away is rest. At the very least try dropping any elbow joint isolations for a while and just do the compound lifts. I also recommend people take ZMA before bed if they are lifting...or having cramps etc. Seems to help stave off the DOMS. Could be complete horseshit but its cheap and seems to help some.
  5. You covered everything I was thinking so...+1 to what redxxrdr said.
  6. Toyo OpenCountry AT2. I have run multiple sets of them. They wear very well and are relatively quiet. Will almost definitely be putting a set on the new truck soon. I was just told at the tire shop last week while getting trailer tires that the Nittos are essentially the same tire. Same company or parent company. They just look a little different. No idea if thats true but have no reason to doubt it.
  7. A little thread necromancy going on here. I have never had that cap off. The protector just goes around it.
  8. IMO bosu ball squats are sub optimal at best. Doing regular squats or pretty much any exercise where you are lifting heavy weights will strengthen your back and core. Adding the ball just makes it nearly impossible to lift to your potential and probably adds an extra probability of injury if you do try to do it heavy. Just my opinion though.
  9. Nice, Vern. We have been thinking about doing pretty much the exact same thing now that we have a camper. I wanted to extend the shop roof but its not going to be tall enough so it will be a separate carport either beside or in front of the shop. How did they anchor that thing down. Looks like it would have to be something substantial to keep it from going into parachute mode in high wind.
  10. Two is one. One is none. You are really taking a chance with only one bike. I'm here to help (with justifying a 2nd bike).
  11. Byrdman is selling his trx90. He is in IL though. Not sure if you will be able to see this: https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=honda trx sportrax fourtrax 90
  12. Best thing I ever paid someone else to do. I'll try to remember to post pics tomorrow. Right now I'm trying to get a server back up so I can go back to bed. Edit: Pics added. I wanted to do this for years. Wasn't quite sure how I wanted to do it. Finally just paid someone to do it and he did a great job. I think he used 2.5" but not sure. He used a skid steer for the whole thing. The attachment he used to to prepare the area for the gravel he called a soil conditioner. It basically just shaved a few inches of grass and topsoil off and then put the gravel down. He used the material he removed to create a slight berm to help direct runoff in the back. That made a huge difference with a swampy area on the other side of the yard.
  13. Good grief this thread is all over the place. Oscar, Mike...get out. ;-) Seriously though. You have the cage already. Just do lightly weighted squats if you can. I hurt my shoulder and had to stop lifting for about 6 weeks. I started back last week but I still have pain so I just made up a upper lower circuit to help ease back into it. I've been doing squats with 135 (warm up weight) just trying to get back into it and the old unused (for 6 weeks) muscles were in sad shape. Other alternatives: Lunges. Hold dumbbells for weight. Step ups. If you have a good solid box or if your bench is high enough you can hold dumbbells or plates and step up onto the bench. Then back down and do the other leg. Simulates a good deep squat. Bavarian split squats. I have been doing Bavarian Split Squats...or just split squats after my regular squats are done to finish off my quads. They work very well and are surprisingly difficult with very little weight.
  14. Not the answer to the question asked but I've used black electrical tape with good results. Short vertical strips overlapping. The residue is very minimal and wipes off easily with honda polish. Its a lot nicer looking if you want to leave it when you are out on a trip and want to stash the bags. I also used plastidip once. Taped it off and sprayed several coats. It looked really cool. It was getting thin at the end of the trip though so if you go that route put on many coats. I think I only used 3 or 4.
  15. Theres a really sweet Tiger for sale here if you just want more comfort but don't want to go total grandpa.
  16. Thats a nice clean bike. Want a bike you can ride anywhere and not need a chiropractor when you get there this is it. My XX was starting to give me grief (knee/shoulder pain) on long trips. Love my Tiger. You can pick up those infills on ebay for $50-100.
  17. You can build an AR for a song these days. Put one together on the cheap or find a decent complete one. Then you can upgrade if you want a better barrel/trigger etc.
  18. I'm not worth a fuck if I don't eat something before my workout. I have found that a banana about 30 prior helps a lot. I also have been taking Mr. Hyde pre-workout for quite a while. Fuck me that stuff is potent. I still typically don't take a full dose...unless its leg day. Whatever you do eating some carbs before your workout will help a lot. Carbs=fuel.
  19. Mobil1 is pretty universally recognized as excellent. Shell Rotella is also very good oil. I use both. Evlxx left his oil (mobil1 I think) in his XX for 10k miles and then sent in a sample. It tested fine. We clearly change our oil WAY more often than necessary. I change mine annually regardless of mileage.
  20. That's awesome. Good weight too. I can't remember if i mentioned it already but my 19yo daughter is lifting now too. This is week four for her. She isn't putting up those numbers but I'm proud of her for lifting and she seems to like it.
  21. Welcome to one of the most rarely visted forums on the whole board. Now get off your ass and start lifting!
  22. I have an HK AVR30 too. Its a really nice receiver. It sounds good and even looks cool. It just doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of the newer units so it was relegated to the bedroom tv. Running a Denon AVR X3100W in the living room now and so far its very nice.
