  1. Glad to hear your bike is working well. You must have one of the bikes that actually had a "wiring loom" problem.
  2. Did you check the codes in your ECU? Try it and reset the unit. That fixed mine after the plug cleaning didn't. Replacing the battery has the same effect since that also resets the ECU.
  3. It looks like you wre having an interesting photo day. Got any more pics of your friends to post??
  4. Do a search and you will find several threads on wiring loom issues. You might try checking and resetting your ECU codes before you tear into the wiring.
  5. I have Penske 8981 and I really like it. I've never used an Ohlins. Take a look at the other Ohlins thread to see the opinion of a man who has used both.
  6. I have about 20,000 miles on my shock and have never serviced it. I bought it used and don't really know how many miles it has on it. The shock still works perfectly and I have no plans to get it rebuilt until it starts feeling wonky.
  7. I've used Pro-Grip 714 for several years and they're great. You just have to cut the ends off and they fit fine.
  8. Good point about a possible bent rotor. I change my own tires and sometimes forget that not everyone is careful. Some of the ham handed guys who have the nerve to call themselves mechanics should have their asses kicked.
  9. The left front caliper is supposed to move. That's how the linked brakes work from front to rear. Left front outside pad wear is also common. I can't comment on your vibration problem though. If it didn't vibrate before the pads, I'd check the installation and make sure the pads are installed correctly. Also check to see that the calipers move freely on their mounting pins. Take a look at the service manual and you'll see what I mean.
  10. I just noticed that I went to -2.
  11. I agree with shovelstroked. Follow the troubleshooting guide and you'll likely find the culprit. If nothing shows up, just reset the codes and ride it to see if your FI light comes back on.

    13 HP gain

    Congrats. Very nice results.
  13. I like the Powers too. I've just worn out my first rear Power at about 3,000 miles. Not too bad for a soft tire and the handling improvement is well worth the few extra $ for the reduced life.
  14. I just noticed that I'm at -1 messages too. This just happened in the last day or two.
  15. Here are copies of my dyno runs. The runs are the before and after installation of a PCII. I'm running Two Bros. slip-ons and a K&N filter. My PAIR system was hooked up during these runs.
  16. The forks will come off without removing any plastic except the fender. I can't see why you couldn't change the steering head bearings with out removing plastic. I've never changed mine, so I really can't confirm it.
  17. I'll post my dyno run chart this evening.
  18. I don't think it actually changes the A/F ratio at all. I think it does make the A/F ratio appear leaner at the exhaust by injecting air into the exhaust stream. The engine doesn't know the diference.

    Chain Oilers

I suggest you just start from the hot lead and work forward. Don't forget there's a fuse in the junction box.

    Chain Oilers

I'm running mine on Table 13, setting 3. I use Mobil 1 Gear Oil in my unit.

    New Horn

Yeah. You're right, it doesn't sound quite like a truck horn, but it's a hell of a lot louder than any car horn I've evern heard.

Did you buy the Stebel wiring kit for the install? No. I just made my own.

    New Horn

It's on my birthday list. How loud is it compared to what you typically hear on the road (cars, trucks, etc)? Twistedthrottle.com described it as "Loud enough to convince other drivers that there's a derailed freight train barreling down on them." It sounds like an air horn from a semi truck. I honked it inside my shop and my ears are still ringing.

    New Horn

I installed a Stebel Nautilus horn today. It fit perfectly just in front of the steering head. I didn't even have to remove any plastic to get it on. I made my own mounting bracket from a $1.99 shelf bracket from Lowes. I just used the dimensions on the Stebel site. The shelf bracket even had a nice hole to mount the relay. I probably don't use my horn a half dozen times a year, but when I need it, I want people to hear it. THAT IS ONE SERIOUSLY LOUD ASS HORN!!
  25. Congrats on the mods. I've been running the same suspension set-up for a while now. I love it.
