  1. BMW Sport Grips... Fat, rubber and have a taper that works for me.
  2. And let MR. RC45 tell you that we're all wrong and that constant/consistant lube/oil on the chain will do the chain good...
  3. I haven't seen Carl in a long time, We were PMing last week on ST.N about a late april 3 day ride ... want some company up in idaho? will be the last weekend in april. Haven't picked a final destination yet. Hope your troubles sort themselves out C'mon up... There's a spare bedroom and I'll move the Tahoe out to make room for your bike...
  4. Try Aerostich... I'm doin' ok... Somewhat trying times dealing with problems back east with my mother... Other than that well enough. Are you guys keepin' Carl on the straight and narrow???
  5. If that's all ya want... Buy a Loobman... about 36 bux US.
  6. I got a couple of bags of 'em from JC WHitney...They were about five bucks a bag plus (reasonable) shipping.
  7. Since it's solved... Just for future reference...HID (Bl) to Harness (G) and HUD (W) to Harness (Bu).
  8. The helis have a few degrees more drop at the tips. For the way my wrists work, the VFR bars feel just a bit better.
  9. Hey WC... You wouldn't be interested in lending/loaning that fancy-assed tool out now would ya???

    Garage lighting

Another thing to help with lighting is to paint the walls and ceiling white. Garage is now much brighter with same flourescent lights.
  11. I can tell you that the LED on the helmet remote is BRIGHT!!! XX_rider, I think we're both talking about the same place on the fairing, just under the headlights. My concern is that the plastic does flex and that the weight of the detector may amplify the flexing and cause the plastic to break, causing the Escort to bail... I do like the idea of mounting it there, but I may try and fabricate something that will stiffen that area up some. Hell, I've just about run outta room in the fairing to put much else up there.
  12. Yeah, that's what the guy at Happy Trails said too... :icon_doh:
  13. Well since Radar should go throw plastic there is a nice hole right under the front of the upper fairing. Right below the headlight. It would be hidden and should still work quite well. I'm considering hidding mine there as they aren't quite legal here...lol Good thought... My only concern is that the plastic is rather thin and "flexy". Maybe there's a way to add some meat to that section of the fairing... Otherwise I'm plumb outta ideas.
  14. I finally got around to mounting the H.A.R.D. remote in my helmet and I'm now kinda in a quandary as to wherre to mount the actual detector. I already have it setup for hard wire on switched power so I really don't need constant access to the unit. Any ideas or suggestions?
  15. I had to have some kind of excuse to hang out in the garage this last weekend... So, while I was running some errands I stopped in at the local Adventure Touring accessories shop and found this neat little accessory... Voltage monitoring, clock, thermometer, ice alert and stop watch all rolled up into one nice little guage. And it was just three little (and I DO mean little) wires, some velcro, a couple of 1.5" brackets and four #4 wood screws...
  16. You might consider Penske too while you are looking. Yeah... I'm happy to say my used Penske (was Big Boy's) doesn't leak... Knocks on wood!
  17. Hmm... I wonder if the asshat that bought and totalled my old Bandit still has it...Maybe I can convince him to send me the caps and I'll send him the X's caps back...
  18. He did say "cheap". Thanks Redbird...I was reminded of the same fix for the Bandit's bars once I read your post... It worked well on the Bandits...
  19. Well, I finally decided that it was time to do all the front end work since all the aprts are piling up and I've run into a dilemma... The bar-end weights aren't budging from the Heli-bars! I mean they are a permenant part of the bars... So, I need to find some sort of (cheap) replacement for the VFR bars. I know I can get some cheapies from the Cyclegear store down the road, but I am concerned that w/o the weights I'll get more vibrations outta them. Any ideas? BTW, I noticed that with the current search engine, you can't search for a three letter word... You know like HID or bar... Great!
  20. Barry... Check out my post in this thread. http://www.cbr1100xxforums.org/forum/viewt...ght=coat+hanger When my chain(s) are correctly aligned the hash marks (on both of my bikes) don't line up. The the previously mentioned tools will help but so does my cheap coat hanger tool.
  21. DUDE... You don't want a thief to 'jack you bike when it's cold and the oil hasn't had a chance to circulate yet... Now would you??? :nana: Seriously, I have the same question... But d'fferent strokes for d'fferent folks.
  22. Checker, my man... I know for a fact that the Checker and the Autozone in Parker carried it... At least they did back in ay when I still lived there.
  23. Justin set one up with the same vendor over on STn... http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/showth...00&page=1&pp=20
  24. I'm not Joe, but I'm partial to the Pitbulls...
