    Car Battery

I'm mystified where these old wives' tales come from. Was it maybe true decades ago? Like putting a battery on concrete?

    Macgyvering

Dad worked for them and I started my first business around 5th grade fixing shit based on bags of their dead castoffs that I rebuilt.

Oooh, I have some bad news for you about the tequila served to locals in Mexico and the rum served to locals in Cuba. "Export quality" means "the peasants can't afford it."

He's also got to pay the taxes for the free medical care.
  5. There's a small chance of self-repair since it could also lead to a fire.
  6. I put a home grown (very hot) jalapeƱo in a mixed berry smoothing today. Meh, not bad, not a benefit.
  7. Those are the bare ones, right? That you solder and cover with heat shrink tape? Sounds like you have experience and tools, you'll be good.
  8. Also be sure you note one thing Oscar mentioned. Corrosion can creep up the wire. You have to remove it all, like a cancer, or it will continue to spread.
  9. You're fairly new here, we don't know your skill level. Rate yourself from 1-10 where 1 is "injures self with screwdriver between tool chest and bike" and 10 is "rebuilds engines through the exhaust pipe like a gynecologist." But really, using decent components and tools, it's not a big deal. Particularly if you do one wire at a time and be patient. I have a marginal view of Croatia from the outside from an in law, but not sure what your ability to procure this type of goods is. He mostly talks about how much better the cheese is there than here. And the Ajvar, and I have to agree on that one.
  10. I agree on permanent connections, but the last few years have taught me to use alternatives to the normal butts. Anyway, when OP decides what he wants we can get into that. For one, self-sealing Dolphins would be good. Also the press-down splices with sealer.
  11. I see one or two that are NOT suspicious. I have no real advice on cleaning corroded terminals, I rarely see corrosion, and when I do, the fixes are never reliable. Oscar...WD40?
  12. LOL, good work, whether intentional or not.
  13. Huh. If you handed me a solid metallic fuchsia motorcycle, I'd ride it for sure. Not sure about the silver graphics, maybe busy. Also my brain immediately processed it as a busy.
  14. I don't even know why that would be a question any more.
  15. On the topic of Beetle bags... "And what made you first notice the defendant?" "Well it's the first time I've seen a touring motorcycle doing a wheelie all the way through an intersection."
  16. Adding to this, and agreeing, but also what's the other maintenance like? Air filter?
  17. I just read another article on that site and it was equally poorly written, with plain lies in it. So you should ignore everything on that site.
  18. Two year old ad-blog written by someone with a third grade grasp of English. Ignore the eyesight rant above; HUDs by design are focused at infinity so any glasses you wear or eye issues you may have are the same as seeing the road.
  19. Xylene is a real motherfucker like MEK and shouldn't be used without protection and knowledge. I love what it does, and treat it with great respect. This shit is seriously effective though. Smells really great too, giving a false sense of not being a big deal. 2. Hazards Identification GHS Classification Health Acute Toxicity - See section 11 for specific toxicity. See section data on ingredients. Eye Irritation - Category 2 Skin Irritation - Category 3 Physical Flammability - Category 3
  20. "Everyone" is telling me that things are inflated. Reality is that I'm not seeing a huge jump in actual selling price for many things. "Everyone" told me my RV trailer would "for sure" sell for over $18k. Yeah, couple nibbles, no sale at $18k. Neighbor put his UTV up for the high price everyone said would be an easy sale. Nope. I smell a rat. I can't help thinking of the book, "Extraordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds." It was about a time in history when markets went to crazy values for no reason than everyone saying it was. Also seems to vary by area and season. Bottom line, none of us probably really know.
  21. Imagine how different life would be if I'd gone with the impulse buy of the busa right then, instead of carefully considering it and deciding on the XX. It could have come down to just the lack of electronic payments to do it while I was standing there.
  22. +1 But that goo gone gel really solves it for me every time, there's always a bottle around.
  23. Well, the paint is very Hayabusa looking to me. Unpopular opinion: The original copper/silver is fucking HOT and made me really want one.
