  1. We'll have to see if me hinting at the rider's gender could be helpful, or actually could make it much much harder. Hints aren't necessarily helpful, LOL.
  2. Might as well proceed on into the "hint" phase of this game. "He" doesn't do that.
  3. I assume everyone knows about the "magic" of silicone mats. They keep this bullshit from becoming an annoying issue, just shake it off into the trash. But our last mat order came with these split silicone tubes. Now I don't need a mitt to pull a rack out to check cooking or flip something.
  4. Zero (ahem) issues on anything else on the bike. Nothing, perfect record, except this.
  5. That's critical info; rear brake. I don't know if the wheel had been removed.
  6. One sided piston.
  7. I know for sure that if I left something on the second floor of the house, I'm less likely to go get it. I don't even care about the stairs and generally fly up them, and congratulate myself for getting another Apple Watch badge for flights climbed, LOL. But my lizard brain is far more likely to tell me that I don't really need that one item, if it's upstairs. If I left my phone up there, please don't bother calling me. Not happening.
  8. Edit: Critical info, rear brake, single piston. These brake pads are 15 months and 12,600km old (62634.092 furlongs). They are on a 2022 Zero FX/E, ridden as a daily commuter and occasional fun. The driver is not retarded, got that out of the way first. What happened? I know, helped him figure it out, so let's have a game. In the end he figured out the actual answer, based on my explanation of what had to happen to get here.
  9. I realized there was a stock number in the CL ad, so I googled that, and found that it's at a dealer. Along with some other shit we'd all love to own. https://www.bellomoto.com/2003-honda-cbr-1100xx-blackbird-bm306
  10. It's overpriced, but scam? I think it reads like the opposite of scam, it's well written and highly personalized. Scams are usually full of generic info and/or errors.
  11. My 2000 model did 142 HP on the dyno stock, and 147 with a fuel-adding tuner. That was in summer in Vegas so it was hot and 2000 feet of elevation. It should be more at sea level and cool.
  12. I always figure small towns would be cheap for things like that. Around here you just find your local Mexican tire (llantera) and pay $7 to R/R (no balance at that price). It's next to a taco shop where you can eat while you wait.
  13. Not only are the types of calories different in their result, but the TIME of them is also. By a lot. https://nutritionfacts.org/video/friday-favorites-is-breakfast-the-most-important-meal-for-weight-loss-or-should-it-be-skipped/?subscriber=true TL;DW: Morning calories increase TDEE and burn easier than evening calories.
  14. Yes, but do you park like a dick, which would justify the zip tie treatment? I think the people who need it most, will be least prepared. Another fun one is pepper spray on the door handle.
  15. And the garage qualifies for that, because it's open often enough to get UV damage. Even some of my anodized tools lost color, and the clear zips break. And the only really huge ones I can find are from HVAC stores and clear.
  16. That's a pretty important and functional use. Won't work on a Tesla though.
  17. Jeffrey M. Friedman, 15 Science Translational Medicine, November 22, 2023, speaking of GLP-1 agonists and health improvements they drive. "It is impossible to overstate the public health implications of these developments. Obesity is an independent risk factor that greatly increases mortality risk and is estimated to carry a $173 billion burden for the American health care system alone. It is also a significant problem in the rest of the developed world and a growing one in the developing world. Although concerns about the cost of some of these emerging, more effective drugs have been raised, their potential health benefits make it imperative to develop means for ensuring that they find their way to patients who need them." "In addition to their impact on the treatment of metabolic disease, the substantial weight loss that is now achievable should help mitigate the personal and societal consequences of this disorder [obesity]. The identification of mutant genes that cause human obesity and the current availability of effective treatments vitiates the notion that food intake and body weight can be controlled by volition alone. Obesity is arguably the most stigmatized human condition, and in addition to their health benefits, this generation of treatments should lay to rest the unfair treatment that many people with obesity endure."
  18. Related...we're only barely starting to understand this concept, where "cause" is incorrectly. Old age "causes" prostate cancer, in nearly 100% of men, if they live long enough. Eating X causes Y disease (cancer, obesity, whatever). Too simple, not correct. https://nintil.com/causality-biology/ Some thoughts on causality in biological systems 2023-11-26; Last updated: 2023-11-26 Wordcount: 1320 | Reading time: 7 min • Biology • Is this article wrong? Sometimes one reads discussions of causality in academic papers. Expressions like "this gene causes that" or "Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is caused by XYZ". Or of course, "We don't know what causes X". Recently I found myself thinking about these three statements: We don't know what causes Alzheimer's yet (eg here at NIA) Old age does not cause Alzheimer's, but it is the most important risk factor for the disease (also here at NIA) Aging causes Alzheimer's (eg here at Fightaging) What does causality mean there? How can something be a risk factor but not a cause? Intriguing! People (philosophers excluded perhaps) ususually don't think much when they throw around the word cause, but in biology, from the way the word is used, "X causes Y" tends to mean "X is necessary and sufficient for Y".
  19. New evidence is showing that CICO is far from universal. WHAT the calories are is being proven to matter, and it seems to also correlate with gut bacteria telling your brain what to eat.
  20. https://prod-streaming-video-msn-com.akamaized.net/8ef08ef3-6570-4a2c-b52f-ca2a48d15de8/d490b73a-524d-48d9-a1a3-12a65250.ism/manifest(format=m3u8-aapl) This was a note from the person who sent the link to me: I know some people can work out and diet and stay thin. But is everyone the same? I like the messaging in this video from WW. I fought weight and lost all my life. I have one lean son and one cubby son. My (youngest) chubby son works out 2 hours 5x a week. He works as a package handler in a warehouse 5 hours a day. He likes vegetables and meat. He was a chubby todler. We don't have lots of junk food in our home. He is about 150 lbs overweight. I am gently trying to direct him to trying Zep before he ends up diabetic like I did at 30. He is a decade away.
  21. I can't believe I only recently figured this out. You can do so much with them, where even heavy duty nylon zips have trouble. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7QNBM6D?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  22. Of course. Put up the clear covers and a little heater in the cockpit.
  23. Other than the ugly logo on one? To add to the confusion, googling the Sea Doo part shows a video of them drilling out the end of the bars to fit a weird bar end attachment. But clearly the pics show a simple bar clamp. I would think that Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, and motorcycles all use the same bar size. Also I learned that some retards put these and heated grips on Sea-Doos and go run them on partially frozen lakes. https://brp.my.salesforce-sites.com/ISPublicArticleInfo/apex/BWLightningViewerWithTranslate?#id=kA0a0000000h3dhCAA&googtrans(en|en_US) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6NBN1X?smid=A2EPE15NO912P&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R2DG6L0?smid=A39FJCYQH332X0&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BFDSM59K?smid=A5P1774QJ6DP3&psc=1
