  1. Seriously? Do you not see the direct light from all the headlights around you? The 55w option increases direct light a great deal, but useful reflected light from the road is not significantly better because a properly-aimed headlight doesn't have very far to go.
  2. More light output doesn't equal more usable light reflected back to you to see. I've read a number of articles on the matter and all of them say 35w is ideal. Several of the manufacturers of kits also advise you to use the 35w option. Blinding drivers is counter-productive and dangerous to you, so just saying "more is better" is foolish.
  3. I'm talking about both. The 55w option doesn't give much if any increase in usable light on the road, and high color temps reduce effectiveness.
  4. 55w HID isn't necessary and doesn't really increase the actual usable street lighting much if at all. High color temps are LESS VISIBLE than the lower ones. 4300 is ideal, above 5500 things start to go downhill. I've had the 35w kit in my K1200LT for about a year and a half, it's perfect all around. Beam pattern, brightness, and no issues. Pretty easy to install.
  5. Would he be able to get an unlock code from AT&T since it's now an off-contract phone? That improves value. And I assume this isn't the waterproof ("Active") version?
  6. One of the big differences in plasma cutters is the consumables. I looked at cheap and higher end, and determined that with some usage, the higher end can end up less expensive or at least close. I chose a Hypertherm 30 for about $1k. It's a contact unit, so you're not screwing up tips if your hand isn't steady. I don't know how much time I have on it, but I've never worn out a tip set. I replaced some of the stuff just because, but pretty sure they were still serviceable. Being AZ I can't compare air drying problems. I went with a basic desiccant unit at the cutter end, and have a generic water separator on the regulator. The desiccant seems to run forever before it changes color.
  7. I'm sort of relieved to miss out on this. I really want another XX some time, but I have an insane amount of things going on right now.
  8. Also, do you think it was repainted, or just had the fairings swapped out? Or maybe came from Canada (can't remember their colors/years)?
  9. I noticed it has no plates, are you able to do some kind of temp there so it can be ridden home? Are the tires on it now shot? Or...would you do a truck pickup if the buyer pays shipping?
  10. It's like new. I used it for a week before deciding that the Sonos system wouldn't be a real theatre system like I wanted. I had tossed out the packaging though so I can't return it. Retails for $700. Would like to get $600 shipped.
  11. Barely used, perfect condition. Two months old and probably 70 minutes of talk time. $190 shipped in the US.

  13. This probably doesn't make sense to ship, but I figured I'd put it on here for anyone local or if shipping does work. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/for/2679799019.html
  14. I didn't hear about that, but if Hobi needs me to go take a shit on his lawn or burn his house down, let me know.
  15. If anyone needs it... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/mcy/2546505981.html I don't know the guy or anything, just saw the ad. If you want me to work something out for shipping I can, but like he said, probably expensive.
  16. Frank Thomas jacket, small amount of road rash from where it did its job, otherwise in good condition. Has a removable liner and a couple of zipper vents in the front. $50 plus $14 shipping in the US via Priority Mail.
  17. $15 shipped, post your claim here and then send via Paypal to caalvarez at me dot com. These are size XL, used, in decent condition. They spent more time rolling around in my tank bag than being worn because they're not quite the right fit for me. NOTE: They have a bit of conductive thread in the finger tip which I put in there to make them work with a touchscreen. You can't feel it in the glove.
  18. Delrin has to be UV-stabilized to be left in the sun. Not only does it turn gray, it gets brittle and will fall apart over time. UHMW is pretty UV-stable. If you can do HDPE (King Starboard), well, that can be in the sun until eternity without any effect. I want a set of these for my K1200LT. But it's a complex mirror mount. I think you'd have to get your hands on a mirror or a K1200LT itself to measure it out.
  19. Simple rain suit, no armor anything. Just fabric with a PVC coating, reasonably durable and heavy. Pants with suspenders and jacket. This is a cheap suit but did alright at keeping me dry. I have a new full waterproof riding suit so I no longer need this, just covering cost of shipping. Size is marked as XL. It's a little bigger than an XL riding jacket, big enough to go over my old L riding jacket. That's how I used it, as a cover over my leather jacket and jeans. $14 to cover shipping, sent to: caalvarez at me.com
  20. Simple, lightweight 3/4 length riding jacket. Did a decent job but I have a full waterproof suit now. Just cover the cost of shipping, $11. Send Paypal to: caalvarez at me.com

  22. This is just the control box and the bike power isolator/filter. No headsets or other accessories. $40 shipped.
  23. Oh, that's right. And this one is the one with the bubble. The colors varied also, this one has the kind of gold-color area at the bottom, not the black. No deep scratches, no broken parts. It's just what your average stock screen would look like after years of use and cleaning.
