If you do pull the clutch slave cylinder off, put a zip tie or rubber band or something to keep the piston for shooting out. It may stay for awhile but it will eventually be pushed out by the spring behind it. If it does come out you will need to bleed the line after you get it all back together. Like they said before don't put pressure on the clutch lever while its apart. Dan

My 02 now has 4k miles on it. I'm planning on switching to synthetic oil. I've heard Wal Mart is the place to go. Which brand do they carry, that you guys recommend. Is there a trick to switching. i.e. change oil and filter and just fill er up with synthetic. Do I have to worry about residual dino oil mixing with the new stuff? Thanx for the input.. db

Justin: I've got a 4 car garage and only two cars, so there's room to work. I have an 8" bench top drill press and assorted tools. I'm about 20-25 minute ride east of you. If the wife sees someone else doing mods to their bike I might have a chance to spend some money on mods myself on the premise of safety issues. :wink: So far my 02 is completely stock.

Justin: If you haven’t torn your forks down yet, would you mind a helper to observed and open beers etc., whilst you work? I'd be interested to see the job done (on somebody else’s bike of course) before I do mine.
