Is there a special tool to shorten a chain and how do I attach the "master link"?

SOB is so stretched out its past the "new chain" slot. 29,000 miles.

What tinsle strenght chain do you use?

DID chains shows ~9800 lbs for up to 900 cc bikes.

No one stocks the 13,000lbs (1100 cc) type here. Ayers Eh?

And the tool you use to break the chain is called a dremel.

Won't a bolt cutter work? :grin:

A dremel with cutoff wheel will work.

Or a torch setup.
