DaveK Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 OK.....last year while making a U turn in TN I dropped my bike. I replaced the tip over guard that got scratched the same day....only $14 bucks. When I dropped the bike...it also made a few very small scratches on the underside of the left exhaust can. As you probably already know I need to have a perfect bike at all times...so I went on the ST boards and asked of anyone was selling OEM pipes that are in NEW condition. Someone who went immediately after buying the bike replaced the OEM with Two Brothers. Well....a guy found me. He want's $100 bucks for a full set of NEW pipes plus shipping. Seems like a pretty good price ? He said that they have been sitting in his garage for 2 years. Could anything have happened internally to the pipes sitting in a garage for 2 years ? Thanks. Quote

As long as they weren't in James' storage unit they will be fine. Just blow them out to make sure there's no vermin taking shelter in them before install. Quote

Dave, if it's just light scratches, why not just polish them out with some aluminum polish? Quote
DaveK Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 I tried....believe me I tried. There is a slight dent where the rocks made contact on the scratch as well. Quote

Well depending on HOW they were stored, you may have to polish these a bit as well to get that "showroom new" shine on them. I don't have my stock exhaust cans anymore, so I don't know if they pit or surface rust at all when stored. Quote
