rodantking Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I've read a lot of you have lowered the front. My guess is that the main reason was comfort, but when I look at it there is only about 5.25" of fork tubes inbetween the fork seals and the lower tripple tree. My question, How can you lower this 1 to 1 and half inches like I'm reading and not smack the fork seals into T.T. and loose travel at the same time? What I'm I missing? Quote
Guest rockmeupto125 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 That's a big drop. Start with 10 or 15 cm. Its a noticable difference. Quote
Redbird Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 10 or 15 cm Pretty sure Joe meant mm there. Quote
Guest rockmeupto125 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 umm...yes. I'll go back to my cave now. Hopefully rodantking hasn't tried this yet. Quote
Northman Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Personally, I'd try 6-10mm, then adjust from there. After correctly setting sag, of course. Quote
EVLXX Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 What was the stock measurement from top of tube to top of the triple again ? ... I also know that some of you have raised the rear... so 10-15 mm's down on the front with how much up on the rear... gives you what kind of Rake ? The reason I ask is.... I've got my front dropped to 54mm, sag is adjusted, and the rear is stock hieght. And I Love it. But I wouldn't go any more than that. Quote
Helvet Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Lowering the front, and raising the rear is with the original springs limited use gained. Honda used to weak springs with too thick oil. If you want to make a real improvement upgrade your springs and oil... Check out this link: http://www.cbr1100xxforums.org/forum/viewt...pic.php?t=27931 Quote
51'er Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Try using the search. Also, use small increments when adjusting. 5mm or less. Quote
