    Clutch Change

That's too funny. I have never even thought about the clutch. Except for my 1972 Honda 500, I have never had to change a clutch. and I've had: 1972 Honda 500 1976 Honda 750 1978 Honda 750 F 1979 Honda 750 Supersport 1981 Honda 900 Supersport 1987 Honda Interceptor 1993 Honda VFR 750 1997 Honda XX
  2. Well my bike has been in my friends garage all winter here in Schaumburg Ilinois and he didn't start it and I didn't winterize it. I just flew in this morning from Anchorage and when I went to start it ... no go!! It cranks, and will stumble now and then but no start. It's 1:00 pm, Thursday here in Illinois and I need some help fast if I plan to head out on Friday and attend MIXXT.
  3. Yeah, its usually the hoses hooked up incorrectly. So, basically.. "you're hosed" I wish I had a pic to send you of the routing.
  4. Radio shack doesn't carry anything with that much wattage. Are you guys sure of these numbers? They Have 8 ohm 20 watt resistors for $2.30 each
  5. I mentioned this once before but didn't get clear answer. I replaced my rear turn signals with LEDs when I installed the Mototek Undertail. Now the turn signals flash at a high rate. What can I do to slow them down back to normal. I was told i can install a "Load equalizer" but I would have to buy two of them and they are $16.00 a piece. Is there a simpler way to do this?

    HELP!

LOL I feel the same way when I start working on stuff, maybe I should just step back and have someone else do it. It took me days to install the Mototeck undertail.

    Tools

Almost every tool I buy comes with a case. The few that didn't I went to Home Depot or Lowes and picked up a plastic tool box for storage. It helps keep them from getting damaged from knocking around and keeps all the parts and pices together. I just picked up a small tool box for about $5.00 at Home Depot for my sander and sand paper. Now if I could just get Jackie to put them back in the cases when she's done using them.

Rolling work-cart? Which is that? What do you have in the way of tool boxes? I have one 5-drawer tool box on wheels and am looking at buying another bigger one. They have some a Home Depot, good prices.

    HELP!

I just had a similar experience with a fairing bolt. I went to the local hardware store and bought a tap just for that size and the wrench, cost me about $10. I ran the tap through to clean up the threads and I was back in business. I did not have to use a helicoil. You can buy a helicoil set, which includes the tap and the helicoil to replace the threads that were damaged. I think the sets were about $25
  14. This is the plastic I use to repair my fairing.
  15. I have the standard polished too. Looks great on a black bike. I do have some problems with it "holding" since I put the heated grips on though.
  16. Man, I had bad gas last nite! Whew!!! No sex for me, wife wouldn't go near me.
  17. I picked up a tap and ran it through the threads. Everything seems to be ok. Some crap must have gotten into the threads and then screwed things up. Some metal filings came out with the tap so I ran the tap in and out about 4 times. Now I just need to buy a new bolt.
  18. Thanks for all the help guys. I definitely will buy a new bolt. And I'll pick up a die/tap to run down the hole.
  19. This bolt goes into a part of the frame.
  20. Upon re-assembling the lowers on my bike, one of the 6mm screws that attaches the rear of the right lower stripped. I can't tell how much damage it did to the threads on the attachment point. Just the very end of the bolt is stripped. What do I do? I've never dealt with a stripped bolt before. I went to home depot and Lowe's to try and firnd a thread dye but neither had any metric in stock. There are some hardware stores open Monday that sell them, so I'll pick one up then. I could use some advice on this. Thanks
  21. I went to start my bike yesterday and the battery was low. I used my battery charger in "start" mode and all power went out. I checke about 30 minutes later and the lights would come back on, but of coures not enought power in the bateery to start the bike. I charged the battery overnite and went to start the bike this morning and it acts as if the battery is weak but the battery charger says it has a full charge. Any ideas?
  22. I found that to be the key. My wheels are chromed, the wheels on my wife's bike are powder coated. Lots of wax means less work cleaning.
  23. I have black tinted lenses for the front turn signals. I would like to install brighter bulbs. Because of the designe of the reflector I amnot sure LEDs are the best choice. Who has replaced their front turn signal bulbs and with what? I installed hyperlites for rear turnsignals to increase the visibility. Those suckers are seriously bright!!! I bought the 16 light unit, but I am sure you only need the eight.
  24. Rear sag adjustment advise? My wife says she's beginning to suffer from "rear sag". I figure nailing her in the ass a few times a week ought to do the trick.
