TuffguyF4i
Picked up a dirt bike. I have no gear and i'm not about to drop $1k on new stuff. I'm not picky on brand as long as it is a mainstream one. Not picky on color as long as it doesn't clash hugely with yellow. I wear 9.5-10 for boots and Large for helmet. Guess you aren't picky as to size, either? Edited June 8, 2014 by OrganDonor

IcePrick
I just literally threw away two pairs of Thor enduro pants, a set of vented gloves, and a decent jersey. Fook. If you don't have any luck used, you can get protected for well under a grand with new stuff. The local auto parts stores usually have Bell helmets for $50-$70, and Cycle Gear always has something in that price range. Entry level boots can be had for $125, and they're amazingly good quality (rockymountainatv.com has some decent ones). Those are the two biggest chunks unless you need an exoskeleton and a neck brace. You can get knee protection for under $50, gloves for under $30. On the other hand, I've seen some of the budget riders out here with a vented high school football jersey, mil surplus woodlands camo pants, Mechanix gloves from Pep Boys, construction boots, and skateboard elbows and knees. And they're fast as fuck in the woods. If you give Cycle Gear, Motorcyclesuperstore.com, and a couple of others your email address, they'll send you all their sales - there's always something good. Best of luck and enjoy your new ride - what did you get?
