DirtTorpedo
Where's the cheapest place around here to get new tires mounted and balanced? Last time I went to Cycles 128 they charged me 2+ hours labor! I don't know how much of that had to do with me not buying the tires there. Also, does handing them just the wheels instead of the entire bike make it any cheaper? thanks, Ted

MaXX
Each tire, off the bike is typically charged 30 minutes (last ones I had done were $20/tire at the track). Other then that, the best route for you is this, if you are mechanically inclined http://www.tireqwik.com/tireqwik/ I've been doing this myself for the past two years. Figure I have saved $100's of $$$$$$$$ (3 bikes, trackdays....). MaXX
CBRXX
Hey Ted, Check out the forum here: http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/ Haven't visited there in a while, but a bunch of the guys race in the Louden series, so probably change a lot of tires. You might be able to get it done by someone there when the season starts in April (I think). Definitely take the wheels off yourself. I still think the dealers screw you if you don't buy the tires from them. Of course, if you do, they just screw you on the price of the tires. You could try one of the local private shops, as opposed to a dealer. They may not have a lot of tire stock, and just be glad for some business. Steve

Suf Daddy
Because the manager of the shop was a nice guy (refunded a tire - Christmas gift) I'd buy misc items and other items from them. As a reference the Pirelli Diablo rear was ~$190 vs $120 shipped from Ron Ayers...............If they do my mount and balance I figure I'm still ahead. -Suf Daddy SNIPPED: Last time I went toCycles 128 they charged me 2+ hours labor! mikeG
So I take it that you called the "nazi"? He does other stuff like chains, wheel bearings etc. Real character! Whatever you do, don't ask him to mount a mail order tire! MikeG
