Hey everyone,

I am thinking about picking up a second set of fork tubes so I can send a set out to be powdercoated black and then shipped off for valving. There are some sets off of a '99 on ebay but was curious if anyone knows for sure if they will fit '98 triple clamps? Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

According to Honda Directline Parts fische

No the upper tubes and the top triple tree are different parts numbers from 98 to 99

Same numbers for 99-2003 and same for 97-98

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in, but I thought I'd read that the valving was changed in 99, but they are the same dimensionally.

The ignition mount changed, which explains the different part numbers for the upper triples.

All years are 43mm and should bolt up fine.

Thanks guys! I am thinking about picking a set up to get set up for my weight and then once I install them I'll sell the extra set. I hate the thought of having the bike tore apart for 2-3 weeks without a fork on it. This way I should minimalize any down time. Thanks again!

+1 I have '01 forks on my '97 a '97 lower tree, and an '01 upper (w an 01' ign switch).

The connector on the late and early ign switch changed, but the wires are the same and can be swapped into the connector that fits your main harness easily.
