  1. Hey everyone, I have a new factory pro jet kit and ignition advance for a carb'd XX for sale. It is still in the original wrapper and unused. I will let it go for $100 shipped. Please email me if interested. leeinmemphis@gmail.com Thanks.
  2. I have a VERY NICE 1998 Honda CBR 1100 XX Blackbird for sale. I purchased it a few months ago from the original owner(it still had the original tires on it). Since it's purchase I have completely serviced the bike, cleaned the fuel system, installed new rear brake pads, and Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires(less than 700 miles on them). The bike is completely stock except for a Ti-Force four into one exhaust system and a Cee Baileys touring windshield. Current mileage is just under 13k miles. The bike is in excellent condition and has never been dropped or down. As much as I love this bike my 40 year old knees don't agree with it's riding position. I am open to possible trades: ZRX1200, Buell Uly, Versys, Husky/KTM dirt bike. I may even be interested in a scooter as a partial trade. I have a valid TN title in hand. Price for an out right sale is $3800. If you wanted to do a fly and ride then I would be willing to pick you up at the airport. If you have any questions then please send me a pm. Here is a link to all of my XX pictures since I have had the bike: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v499/lee...XX%20Blackbird/
  3. My bike had a full system TiForce on it when I purchased the bike. At first I didn't care for it but now that I have ridden it some I'm liking it.
  4. Hey everyone I am wanting to buy a set of vfr bars to fit on my '98 'bird. If you have a set for sale please send me a pm. Thanks.
  5. Hey everyone, I have a '98 'bird that I would like to try with a set of VFR clip ons. If you have a set for sale then please send me a pm. Thanks!
  6. That looks easier and better. Thanks guys! Someone pm'd me about a used set of Daves brackets so I went for them.
  7. Hey everyone I am in need of some method to lower my pegs. If anyone has something to work then please send me a message. I would prefer to pay via pay pal for a simple/quick transaction. Thanks
  8. I had the same deal a couple weeks ago. My calipers wouldn't open far enough to clear the rotors with the spacers in there. I removed them and everything works perfectly fine
  9. I have a DDM kit on my BMW GS and to date they have worked perfect. OTOH I purchased a VVME kit for another bike and had a faulty ballast right out of the box and they are making me jump through some ridiculous hoops to get replaced. I will not be ordering another VVME kit. I am going to add HID's to the XX sometime soon and I will go DDM if it is available.
  10. Well I just wanted to update you guys on the bike. I put a can of seafoam in the tank on the first tank of gas and ran it through the bike last weekend. Today it was 70* so I slipped out of work a few hours early and put a couple hundred miles on the bike. I guess the seafoam in the tank/carbs over the past day must have loosened up whatever was gummed up in the carbs. Today the bike ran like a champ with no hesitation at all. I ran the gas down to the point that the fuel light came on and I topped it back off. It looks like I may be ok without doing the carb's for now. It's suppose to rain on Saturday so I will likely do the 6mm washer mod for the rear shock but as of now I'm not planning on tearing into the carbs.
  11. I just got to thinking and was wondering if there is anything else that I should do while that far into it? I have read of cam chain tensioner upgrades and PAIR system block offs(dont know if that applies to the carb'd models though). I am already planning on doing the 6mm rear shock shim mod while in there. The chain looks to still have some life left in it so I will likely leave it on for a while longer. Just curious if there is anything that I may need to look at while in there?
  12. I emailed Factory Pro a couple weeks ago with my bike's config and was told: Install the kit with the mains and needle height as for "competition exhaust" on the blue sheet - That will be pretty close if not perfect. Thanks Now this was before I planned to install the advance, but I wouldn't think that would make any difference in regard to jetting. He said it was the same for any aftermarket 4 into 1, so you should be good there w/ your Ti-Force. I asked if I needed any gaskets and he said that they usually include them in the advance kit. The man checked while I was on the phone and he said that I would get the right gasket needed for the XX.
  13. Hank I will probably be asking lots of questions. .......I'm guessing that both the side fairings and tank(obviously) will need to come off. I'm hoping to get to ride it a little more this week/weekend but if the jet kit comes in this week then I'll likely start into it this weekend.
  14. I have ordered the factory pro jet kit and the ignition advance. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I start diving into this. I purchased a shop manual on ebay so hopefully it will get here before the weekend. If it does I'll go ahead and start removing the bodywork/gas tank in preparation of installing the jet kit. Gotta admit I'm a little nervous about it.
