leeinmemphis
Hey everyone, I am thinking about picking up a second set of fork tubes so I can send a set out to be powdercoated black and then shipped off for valving. There are some sets off of a '99 on ebay but was curious if anyone knows for sure if they will fit '98 triple clamps? Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. John01XX
According to Honda Directline Parts fische No the upper tubes and the top triple tree are different parts numbers from 98 to 99 Same numbers for 99-2003 and same for 97-

Redbird
The ignition mount changed, which explains the different part numbers for the upper triples. All years are 43mm and should bolt up fine.

I hate the thought of having the bike tore apart for 2-3 weeks without a fork on it. This way I should minimalize any down time. Thanks again! The connector on the late and early ign switch changed, but the wires are the same and can be swapped into the connector that fits your main harness easily. billypf
The forks as a whole are interchangeable, but the internal parts are different.
