Any photos or advice RE: mounting the CBR900 reservoir

When I used a 900 RR shock, I wanted the reservoir positioned so I could easily reach the damping adjuster, and I also wanted it to get some air flow, so I mounted the resevoir on the bottom of the subframe on the left side of the bike. I used two hose clamps to hold it, and some stick on foam weatherstripping between the res and the subframe. I had to cut back the front of the chain guard some to allow clearance between the reservoir and the chain guard under full suspension clearance.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures.

This sounds like a good plan. I'm glad to hear that the mounting can be improvised, rather than needing some other bracket or hardware.

Is it still avisable to run the 6mm frame spacing atop the CBR900 transplanted shock? I like that change BTW on my stock shock, kudos to this forum...

- Are you happy with the change to 900RR shock over stock?

- Are you using the 16.8 spring?

- Do you think there will be any long term issues with over-springing a damper that was designed for a lighter bike than our XXs?

Want to buy one that's coming off my bike?

I'm using the 6mm spacer, and it works just fine.

It's already got the 16.0kg spring installed, and is only too soft when 2-up, but can be compensated with damping if necessary.

The 16.8 spring would definitely be the way to go, as long as you can find one.

PM me if you're interested.
