It does, great little bike, pulls like a bull and loads of fun to ride,

but I'm looking for something with longer range for the kind of

riding I do. Probably go back to another 'bird again. Regret ever

selling my '00. Best bike I've ever owned.

What happened to the RC51?

I must have missed something.

Started having front fork issues, Pat - after the local dealer inspected it, discovered the previous owner had done some routine suspension work, seals, etc, but evidently whoever did the work did not reassemble things properly. The rebound adjustments were stripped, began leaking fork oil everywhere, unable to adjust suspesnion. Dealer said it wa gonna cost $700 to tear down and rebuild the forks back to spec, so I said screw it. Had already sunk enough money into the thing and wasn't about to spend more. The RC was a sweet bike on the open road, but was a PITA for city commuting. The dealer bought the bike and in turn I picked up the Superhawk and had a little $$ leftover. Love the Superhawk but it's just not much of a long-distance hauler (nor was the RC), so as soon as I can sell the Superhawk, I'm gonna be looking for another sport-touring bike, most likely another Blackbird.

So, Doug, you going to get a ride in time for NeXXt or TeXXt???

:icon_pray:

Sigh, the VTR still has not sold, but when it does,

I'll probably be looking for another 'bird again.

Remains to be seen exactly when that will happen.

I Like it,

How far from Charlotte,NC are you?

What year is it?

Approx. 350 miles from Chattanooga to Charlotte (about six hours).

Bike is a 2004 model, and '05 was the last year Honda made them.

Some guy from SC is supposed to come look at the bike tomorrow,

but don't know if he's shooting me a line of BS or not. Guess I'll see.

I want..............your garage. Two cars and a ton of room, and clean!

Nothing fancy- 24' X 40' basic "pole barn" construction w/ metal roof & siding.

Contractor had the "shell" finished in 2 days for $6k (2001) then later I added

the floor slab, electrical/lighting, and rigid wall insulation as I got the money.

Built the work bench from some old "fifties" metal kitchen cabinets which were

being thrown away, repainted them "KTM orange" and added the 3/4" plywood

work surface. I live in the country so didn't have to worry about being offending

my neighbors or being in compliance with stupid subdivision building restrictions.
