TFT
I just took the calipers apart and cleaned them and as I read through the shop manual it recommends I replace the piston and dust seals. Everything is clean and looks good. Do I really need to replace them?
cbrxxquad
I push out the pistons out with air, be easy with it, and replace the seals with a pick. But I just clean the pistons with scotch brite. Never replaced any pistons unless they were not damaged. They are special seals and two of them, dust and seal. U shaped and both are different, so look at the way they are installed. Good luck.
TFT
Thanks. I just went to Honda and ordered the seals. One of my tenants runs the shop so I left the calipers there and they will install them for me.

Get him to polish the sides of the pistons nice and smooth, the smoother the better, but don't take off the coating, smooth is slick. Rouge...if you know what I mean. or not. clean is good too.
