Biggz414
What is the largest tire that you can fit on a stock rim and stock setup? Can you go 190 or 200?
Redbird
200 will hit the chain. A 190 will will fit, but will also make it handle like crap.

Redbird offers sage advice; listen to him. It'll make a difference for certain, but the degree to which it'll be noticed will be relatively proportionate to the sensitivity, situational awareness, and skill level of the rider. Those who know their bikes intimately will readily perceive the subtle degradation of precision in handling characteristics. Sometimes other folks don't really care; they just like the looks of a fatter tire. It's the old form vs function debate... of course, YMMV... Redbird
Most 190 tires are designed for a 6" rim. Stuffing them on a 5.5" rim changes the intended profile, never mind what a taller tire does to the overall geometry of the bike. Plenty have done it and some will tell you they felt no difference in handling. Bottom line is it ain't gonna kill you either way. You want the look of that fat rear tire, go for it, but it's pure posing.
Pat830
Don't the racers on the literbikes use a 180, I think I remember reading they do?
tomek
Don't the racers on the literbikes use a 180, I think I remember reading they do? No they don`t,at least not now.Back in the day when 190/55 or 190/60 were not available 180/55 was preferred over 190/50 for the race track since it has profile that puts more meat to the ground when it counts,at serious lean angle. These days you can get all kinds of sticky tires in 190/55 or even 190/60 ( slicks),it is non issue now.
