Honda CR750 CB750 Cafe Racer Project

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm finally selling my CR750 cafe racer project on eBay. It's a 1976 Honda CR750 café racer project. It started out as a 1976 CB750 and has evolved into what you see here. I have grafted on perfect condition CBR1100XX front and rear suspension to give this classic modern brakes and performance. I have machined the rear wheel hub to align the fat sportbike rear tire to the slimmer CB750 engine. Brand new tires. New tapered steering stem bearings keep the modern front end under the classic tube steel frame. Fiberglass seat pan installed to keep the CR750 look alive.

The bike does not include the fuel tank shown in the pictures. AirTech makes a fiberglass replica tank and fairing kit to make the bike look just like Dick Mann’s Daytona winning ride. Included but not shown are a perfectly tuned set of carburetors, a stock Honda oil tank, and other standard electrical and fuel components. The front forks, wheel, and brake rotors alone are worth $600. The engine runs strong and only has 7200 miles. The tires are brand new. The bike has no title but I will provide a bill of sale. I’ve owned the bike for almost 9 years and it was given to me by a close friend. I wanted to finish this and take it to Saturday night bike gatherings but two young kids have pretty much eaten up all of my free time. This is a great start to something special that’s sure to draw stares.

The bike is to be pickup up in Chicago's North Western suburbs. Delivery within a few hundred miles may be available depending on drop-off location and timeframe. Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

Jeff

you have such great ideas and skills, shame that life gets in between, but, time goes fast, kids will be in HS sooner than you can believe.

Very cool project for someone.

Before you know it Reid will know the difference between a 10mm and 14mm just by looking at it.

Maybe you two could look at getting a litlle Honda 50 to work on...

Good luck on the sale Jeffro!

Since your getting out of project bikes, how much for the lift table? :icon_twisted:

$600 from Greg Smith Equipment! :icon_evilgrin:

I'm not getting out of project bikes I'm just thinning the herd a bit. A dual port ( :icon_naughty: ), the XX, and the mighty ST are enough for me right now.

Come on fucker, buy this project. It'll make a great classic track day bike!

Send mac over...he'll give him his own tattoo.

Yeah, a six and a half foot Kiwi might just be the trick.

Did you contact the 2nd place bidder?

Nope, I took the little Staten Island prick on his word and ended the auction early. Damnit.............

Jeff, this is a little awkward.

Knowing you have put a great amount of effort and time into this project, and I appreciating it's value with the intent of winning the bid for the lowest dollar.

Uncomfortable.

My recent PM told of the potential of this project.

Now you know what it's worth to me.

Did I tell ya about Rich's Carrozia's wheels?

The potential is great. The limits of my bidding must consider the geographical distance.

I have a huge hard on right now............

Bid what you're comfortable bidding and please consider the shipping as well. The bike is a project and as much as I want you to have it, it ain't worth $1500 out of pocket.

The Carrozzeria's would be bad ass on there though.

I'm glad you are getting respectable bids on the project.

The additional shipping costs, plus bid, are beyond my limits.

I think you deserve the maximum bid.

I was hoping to snipe the bid at closing but it has already reached my max.

A day and 1/2 to go. My Turbo motor motor will remain

in an ill handling package for now.

Hey Cal,

I wish you would have gotten the bike as well. Like I said, it would have been cool to keep it in the XX family.

I do understand the rising cost at this point. You add shipping costs and all of a sudden the bike is well beyond it's worth.

Thanks for looking Cal, I have enjoyed the conversations.
