matthend
I bought the 6mm shim and will probably install it after work today. Just trying to figure out the best way to approach it without a centerstand (the first thing in the instructions is to have the bike up on the Cstand) It seems like it needs the free play underneath the rear wheel to let it drop when you loosen the shock mount to give room for the shim to fit. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
JB4XX
Get someone to lift up on subframe/rear of bike. Or put a jack or block under the oilpan.
matthend
will do, TY man!
Dion
Get someone to lift up on subframe/rear of bike. Or put a jack or block under the oilpan. Very bad balance point! Ask me how I dodged a bullet. Get a piece of rebar, pipe, rod whatever and run it through the swing arm pivot and support it with a couple jackstands. jon haney
Better yet, buy a center-stand off of Egay and just bolt it on when you do maintenance. You won't need the springs installed and the bolts only need to be finger-tight.
matthend
Would love to, but the center stand wont fit around my exhaust
John01XX
The center stand will fit just fine without the spring, just hanging down. It is when you try to have the stand in the up position that it hits the exhaust As stated use the center stand only for maintenance. That is what I do with myAkro full system

Toynut
Here is a link to making an inexpensive front end stand for the bike. You can also use it to hold up the rear of the bike as well. http://www.cbrxx.com/general-cbr-xx-discus...-your-bike.html

That is what I do with myAkro full system My Akra full system only hit the centerstand when it was down. No issue when it was up. I only mounted mine as insurance on longer trips, but I had to unbolt the can hanger to use it. YMMV, obviously.
