runner Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Hit my lower right stanchion and put a 3" gash/hole in it! It now leaks....(obviously) At least it didn't hit my leg (it hit my boot after it initially hit the fork...no damage to my leg since I had boots on and it only took the secondary hit). There was absolutely no time to react since it was a side-by-side kick back from the /xx???xx 18 wheeler. I am checking w/CBRbear and ebay for used forks.... They showed how a piece of tire tread (retread, alligator?) could be kicked out the back of a wheel going 50 mph. It went through a car window and de-capitated a manikin. Texhoss Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 I am glad you are OK!! You can repair the Bird parts much easier than your body!! I know a guy that had a bolt either kicked up by the 18 wheeler or dropped off the 18 wheeler, it hit his helmet just above the visor and split the helmet rearward.
