mikesail
I do not know. I can tell you that there is a very small lip on the tire that is responsible for the seal, it needs to seal against the the rim inside of the bead area.
FiXXation
In the old days, a tube type tire did not have the same kind of butyl rubber membrane inside the carcass that would actually hold air. I don't know about now days. A link.
Iceman_40
I'm far from a expert but I've been told the issue is more the rim than tire. As long as the rim will support the tubeless tire you should be good. I was told that all the new tires are made for tubeless applications they will work fine. But this is only what I've been told as I had the same question one day when thinking back to my dirt bike days...
cbrxxquad
experts told me to day it will not stay beaded and will dislocate at speed in the corner. Different type bead. Well those tires sre going back, nobody caught that these were tube type when they ordered them. I am looking for a tire for the front that is square and treaded and zr rated. they missed the z also. But they were cheap,,,,,100 a pair Dunlop
