EvilSulu
Well, I finally got around to putting my VFR bars on my '97 Bird. When I was done, I bled the brakes, and they seem fine. However, the clutch isn't working. My guess is that I got air in the lines while I had them unbolted. My problem is that I'm not sure how to bleed the clutch. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Redbird
There's a bleed valve on the slave cylinder, kind of in front of the left footpeg. Hook up as hose and bleed as you would brakes.
redxxrdr
Just remember that a clutch does not pump up firm like a brake does. So pull in once and bleed, then repeat until you see no bubbles coming out of the hose you put on the bleeder. The lack of feedback can make you think you are done when you are not. EvilSulu
That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks. I'm going to try it tomorrow night, and then see if those new bars work like they should...
rockmeupto125
What did you do that would air in the hydraulic lines while changing bars?
Para045
What did you do that would air in the hydraulic lines while changing bars? +1 It should have been a simple matter of unbolting them off the stock bars, slipping the stock bars off and VFR's on and then putting the M/C's back on ( aside from nipping off the lugs that retain the banjo's and rotating them) or did you undo the banjo's too far to rotate them
