porterb123
I know on my older carb bikes a carb sync worked wonders for smoothness and helped with clutch rattle on startup. I have not heard much here about throttle body sync. Has anyone done it...seems like a pain to do on an injected bike. If you did the sync, did it help. tlwolfe
It's not that bad, the hardest part is not dropping the screw that block the vacuum ports. It smoothed my idle out.
porterb123
I was surprised at how out of sync mine were. I now do it annually and still seem to do some adjustment. I guess that the change in valve and ring sealing can have a more pronounced affect on turbo motors than I had thought. I would guess that NA is a bit more forgiving. It was work about 5 HP at 20 PSI of boost. Without me reading the manual...HOW. What do you do with the tank and airbox. I have a motion Pro mercury setup as well as the old carb wrench/ screwdriver that I used on other bikes. For carbs I used to just hang an aux. fuel tank. The FI bird has a short ass hose from the tank to the rail as well as the airbox.
tlwolfe
I left the tank on, just propped the back of it up as far as possible. I used a standard philps screwdrive to adjust. Again it is't that difficult. Just be carful with the screws that block the vacuum ports. If you drop them they are tough to find.

tgo63
When I asked my local honda dealer how much would it cost to synchronize throttle body their answer was 'your bike is not carburated; you do not touch fuel injection'
tlwolfe
It's in the service manual.
xrdracer
I may be wrong, but after just reading my OEM Honda manual, you are not syncing the butterflyies, you are syncing the idle and low speed circuits/plungers. There appears to be NO butterfly adjustment.
BASTOK
I did that last week, the idle is now better that before (it wasn't bad, but now is like 0km). It tooks 1 hour, because you have to wait until the bike gets cold to take out the meter pipes and re insert the screws. Like someone said, be careful with those screws, one of them fall and I was 20 minutes looking for it...
beestoys
You are right it is not like a carbed bike. The throttle plates on the bodies are set and tamper painted. What you are adjusting are the air bleeders for each of the bores. Its very easy to do the adjusters are indexed so you will actually feel a slight click as you adjust them. It smoothed my idle out for a while but the lope came back which is cool by me i like the sound of it burbling. The biggest thing i noticed is the throttle response was noticeably crisper. I was able to just prop up the back of my tank to get at them.
