tripledigits
I've owned my '02 since August, and just discovered it has an 18 T front sprocket. It's geared too tall for my liking, and I was going to put a 16 T on, assuming it had the stock 17 T. I wanted to get some input from the guys who have run a 16. I run canyons with my bike, as well as commute on the superslab. Is freeway riding with a 16 pleasant? Thanks for any input. I didn't find much info on this during a search. Iceman_40
16T gives alot better pickup, gas millage will take a hit and your speedo will be out about 15% from 18T. Slabing it with a 16T ups the RPM about 15% compaired to the 18 you had. If you slab alot you might want to try in the middle first before going to 16. I had the 17T on factory, went down to a 16T now I'm going to go up to a 18T as I don't need the power and want the gas millage back.
