bartonmd Posted September 19, 2006 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I do know that the standard medium strength loctite in the blue tube (used to be a blue label on a red tube) eats ABS plastic... knew a couple guys who would locktite their fairing bolts, and the plastic around it would crack after awhile... Every think else i just use silicon gasket material , by permatex in the squeese tube. It work greats on fairing bolts ect, stops them from comming loose , easy to use and the grey sensor safe kind is almost the same color as my bike. The 'post' is about 6" long metal powerdercoated, and threaded. The 'nut' is about 3" in diameter and fits around the post. It keeps coming loose. Northman Posted September 21, 2006 Share Posted September 21, 2006 Clean both pieces really well, then put some RTV silicone on the threads. Tighten the nut. sykotek-xx Posted September 21, 2006 Share Posted September 21, 2006 Crazy glue, cyanoacryalate. You'll have to cut the fucker off. Get the gel kind, put it on the threads, then tighten it down fast.
