Thread locking on a metal bolt, plastic nut

I do know that the standard medium strength loctite in the blue tube (used to be a blue label on a red tube) eats ABS plastic... knew a couple guys who would locktite their fairing bolts, and the plastic around it would crack after awhile...

I only use loctite on really critical stuff like caliper bolts.

Every think else i just use silicon gasket material , by permatex in the squeese tube. It work greats on fairing bolts ect, stops them from comming loose , easy to use and the grey sensor safe kind is almost the same color as my bike.

Better yet, why not just replace the plastic nut with a metal one?

Its for a metal hose reel (Rapid Reel) that I have on my house. The 'post' is about 6" long metal powerdercoated, and threaded. The 'nut' is about 3" in diameter and fits around the post.

It keeps coming loose. I just wanted to know what I could put on it to keep it tight.
