sprack
What sealant should I use for the grommet here: And what kind of gasket sealant would you recommend for the alternator cover?
sprack
Would this work for both? Gasket Sealant
TOXXIC
I used red Permatex, you can buy it in a tube just about anywhere. If I recall the red is rated to a higher heat value than the blue. Red J
Hondabond is recommended in that location, as specified in the FSM.
Warchild
Hondabond is recommended in that location, as specified in the FSM. True enough, it does. Me, I had a fresh tube of Permatex Ultra Copper hi-temp gasket sealer laying around when I replaced my stator. It worked as advertised; stator cover has been leak-free for the past 30,000 miles now....

OrganDonor
Whoops.... I didn't have the FSM when I did mine... no sealant got used on my cover. After I retorqued it three months ago, no leaks! (fingers crossed)!

Squareman357
Hondabond is recommended in that location, as specified in the FSM. Yuppers...that's what I put on my Stator cover when I replaced it. It has a grommet in about the same spot for the stator wires to pass through. No leaky leaky.
