Canadian Bird
I have a bead on affordable Avons for the Bird. Question is what if they are not the "B" specific tire? Must they be the "B" specific tire or will the other appropriate sizes work? thanks
matey_peeps
I've run both. No noticeable difference.

Canadian Bird
Thanks, Jaw, on the Brit site, states Avon made the B series for heavier sport tourer. The B series has a stiffer sidewall for less flex. Do you "push" your Bird, also two-up full panniers? I really don't do either, that is push it real hard, ie. 260 kms sweepers as I read somewhere this a.m., and I'd like to try Avons as I usually us BT 020's. PS, aside from the B notation everything else is the same. Thanks for the advice
XXTi
Yeah. I push mine a bit and the Avons work just fine for me.
rodantking
I ran non b's on my FJR and had no problem. I can't remeamder dry weights, but there is no less than 100 pounds more. I don't push as hard when I'm riding 2 up.
