Non-OEM fasteners I'm using on fairing

FYI,

I am looking around in a local O'Reilley's Auto parts and see this rack of auto fasteners.

Anyway, I installed two "Dorman" (Part No. 799-100) 5/16 Nylon Rivets on my fairing in the two holes on the bottom of the right and left side fairing panels. The two in front that hold the panels together on the very bottom. They seem to work fine. They require a phillips to unscrew them but they install by pressing. I found that the fastener was so stiff that I needed to Press the head into the expanding portion and then unscrew it before actually slipping into the fairing holes and pressing to set.

The parts guy said these fasteners are very common.

Well, I replaced my CCT today and to get to it I hadda saw these fasteners off.

Since I posted about these as a aftermarket fastener I thought I'd mention this. Sorry if I caused anybody any inconvenience.

I had them on the bottom holding the side fair/panels together up front where it takes two fasteners.

I unscrewed on those motherfuckers for a while and reached up there and squeezed like a motherfucker and still couldn't get them out. I put a screwdriver under the lip and tried to pry them out, no luck but I got them loose enough to get my hacksaw under the head and presto, they came right out after I sawed the fuckers in half.
