Guest Posted November 19, 2005 Share Posted November 19, 2005 I aquired an old 10 inch atlas , the 3 jaw chuck has about 4 or 5 thou of runout on the edge of the chuch itself. I restored an old lathe and when it came time to true the chuck an old machinist told me that if cleaning the chuck doesn't work that's how we would straighten it out.
