Pete in PA
I just found 3 bubbles the size of quarters in the center of my front Contiforce. I didn't examine right away innitially, I thought the tire was just cupping. If you press in on a bubble it's soft untill it hits the next layer so I don't think it's belt seperation. Looks like the tire wasn't heat cured enough at the fatory. The tire IS ready for replacement with the side wearbars even. Too bad I've got another set in the basement ready to mount. Guest rockmeupto125
I remember reading something about an earlier batch having defects, but the information wasn't very specific. Could that be your situation?
Pete in PA
Just ran down and checked the dates on the tires. One on the bike is 3004, new one is 4504, not much difference, probably do the same thing.
Warchild
I would have thought that when you bought my dicked-up POS Conti's I sold you last year (and that I warned you about!), you would'a learned.... :poke:
matey_peeps
Aren't these the tires that are we are specifically admonished against using by Continental?
porterb123
I mounted Conti Forces about 800 mls ago. No problems so far but will keep an eye on now. Thanks Porter
matey_peeps
Ahyes. If you look at their technical manual, next to the XX's spec listing it has a 6 in the remarks column. Remark #6 is 'No Continental fitment possible' I seem to remember FJR guys in Germany having issues with the ContiForce? Big & heavy high HP bikes seem to not like Continental tires. Furbird
It's only certain versions of it, like the Road Attack. The Contiforce and Contiforce II's don't have this problem, as I have gotten superb mileage out of my sets with no problems whatsoever. Thomas
Got Road Attacks on mine. 12,500 km so far no problems.
Pete in PA
Unless someone wants to buy a new set of Contiforces I'm not going to throw out $200 worth of tires so I'll have to mount them. Untill the bubbles they were fine tires and it did happen at the end of their useful life. Pirelli Stradas next though.
