StPeteXX
Anyone ever had their break switch go bad? Both levers activited and the break lights don't come on. No loose wires. Pulled the nose and tail off with Rick's help. Couldn't find anything. Dropped it off at the dealer today for a lookie. Hope they don't rape me too bad. bajjer9
I have had it happen to me but just removing the switch and manually activating it several times solve the problem for me.
SBBXX
If neither the front nor the back activates the light, chances are it's not a switch. A small investment in a DVM, which you can always use BTW, and with the help of the wiring diagram, you should be able to track it down. marty
StPeteXX
Neither front or rear switch activates the break light. What's a DVM ? Digital volt meter? Rich
MileHi
Uh, fuses or bulbs??? The front and rear brakes use seperate switches... I find it hard to believe tha BOTH went at the same time... It's gotta be something common to both... Bulbs, the fuse, taillight ground connectors. Try following the wires back from the tail light and check the harness. Pete in PA
Gave it to the dealer for no brake lights?  Not big on DIY are ya? :tisktisk: :poke: Ask here first.
matey_peeps
Seein's how neither switch actvates them, I'd check bulbs. Cheap things first. Possible for both of the brights to be roasted.
StPeteXX
Both bulbs are new. Installed on the 8th at Rick's. We couldn't find any loose wires. Fuse is good as the tail lights and blinkers all work. Is there a common ground wire for both switches that may have come loose? I hope it's not a HID gremlin. :? matey_peeps
Hmmm. I got nothing. Dig out your wiring diagram and start checking what wires the switches share.
OrganDonor
If the bulbs just went in under a week ago, me thinks that would be the best place to start... check everything you touched and could have screwed up.
JasonW
There is a common ground for each filament (at least on the carbed version). My guess is the pair for the brighter filament is disconnected or simply bad. Do you stuff a lot of stuff in that area under the seat by chance? StPeteXX
Problem fixed. The break light was "stuck" on and not going off. Strange.... Rich
