Heat Problems

well, most of you know I moved to Las Vegas, NV. I want to ride my bird more and more out here but am having alot of heat related issues.

I am looking for idea's how to get the engine to run cooler. At a stop light my temp will climb to 245-250 (at long lights) but while moving I hover between 219-228. With the heat in this area I am sure this is normal but

I am just considering what options if any I have.

Not many options (that works)...I would avoid the traffic if possible. Been a few members thats gone with dual fan setup, not sure it that would help at stop lights but may cool down the XX faster once you get moving. I agree 240-250 is too hot if that is the true temp.

When was the last time you flushed the cooling system? If never, some new coolant and distilled water should knock a few degrees off the temp gauge. Also, get some Water Wetter:

Edit:

For the desert I'd do 75% distilled water, A couple of ounces of water wetter (it's 1 oz for every gallon in the cooling system) and a quality anit-freeze for the rest.
