jimmystartup
This is nothing new...the clutch on my Bird rattles after it starts when cold. This has been going on for years and I've always just assumed it was normal. Once it warms up all is good. Not sure why I'm bring it up today...maybe because that damn Airbus flew off the end of the runway in Toronto and I'm more atuned to mechanical sounds... This is normal right?

Hobicus
I'm afraid I'm going to have to argue with you and tell you that it's not completely normal, it's near ready to explode... Here's how to fix it: Drain the oil Remove the clutch cover Pull all the clutch plates off, and clean them up reall good Get some Epoxy. Glue all the plates together. Reassemble everything. Replace the oil. Naw, it's completely normal. Does seem to matter about the type of oil you run, and the temperature outside.
ZeeBeast
You MUST use a non-soluable, oil-compatable type glue or the plates will begin slipping and rattling almost immediately!
