bajjer9
anyone ever run a 15T front sprocket? I was told never deviate more or less than one tooth on the front. Is this right?
typicalmale1978
The main caution with decreasing the size of your front sprocket is the fact that you are making the chain travel around a tighter angle which can cause it to bind or fail much quicker. Personally I always stick with increasing the size of the rear, because the only side effect is more low end fun Good luck with your swap.. cbrxxquad
I have run as low as 14/58. going to 16/60. biggest problem is the wear on the chain guard over the swing arm. 14 is to close and will wear it out post haste. 15 just clears but will wear. As to the way it runs,,,, a quarter mile tops in 6 and you better be quick with shifting, and have the swing arm long or wheeleeeeee bars. I did not like the lower gears in the way it pulled even though the reason I did it was to be in a higher and stronger gear for the speed I was running. Not for the street. You will flip it if it grips. mine slips.
