Two4One Posted June 16, 2005 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Does anyone else hear their valves? Tonight for the first time I noticed that I could hear the valves at 3500 RPM, the typical tapping sound. Right before and right after 3500 RPM it stops. I just turned 6,000 miles on an '03, I bought it with 3400 on it. Just curious if I was alone on this one? I was actually hearing the noises from the left side and it definitely wasn't a "marbles" type of sound. It sounded like the valves? I didn't even listen to the right side of the bike. Since its my only mode of transportation I was worried and changed my CCT (got one of the x-11 ones from Furbird last year) but that didnt totally solve my issue. It’s hard to tell where engine noise is coming from with all the plastic on. The first time my CCT started going I could swear it was the valves......... It’s was so easy to change the CCT I decided to try it first and it ended up being the cause of the noise. If you do a search on valves you won’t find many problems.
