porterb123 Posted May 16, 2005 Share Posted May 16, 2005 First step was to build a laser setup to mount on the side of the tires. It took a little work to get them lined up both vertically and horizontally. Did this off of a flat granite plate and a distance of 12 feet. Here tis Checked....the rear tire/ wheel on my bike is centered in the swingarm. There maybe different spacer widths but the tire is dead center of the swingarm...needed to know this before starting Left side mounted Right side mounted Both lasers turned on and projected beside the front tire Left side measured Right side measured My swingarm mark vs. the factory...the factory mark is the most rearward...my marks are made top and bottom...not a big difference but visible The levels were about 16 dollars at Harbor freight...pretty easy to make this setup.
