jcrich
OK, bought a Pit Bull front stand so I can get the front wheel off for tire changes, etc. I notice a sticker on it after I get it home that says " Warning, Use only with rear stand". WTF Do I really need the rear stand to use this fucking thing? Help!
demon
It's a stability issue. They will recommend the rear to have 4 points of contact. You can use a piece of wood under the centerstand to gain some rear tire clearance and use that instead of the pit bull rear stand. I would recommend a 2x4 about a foot wider on each side and placing some eye bolts in it. Use a tie down strap on each side attached to the eye bolts secured to the peg brackets for stability. Don't know if you've got children running through your garage like I do, but stability is a major issue with a hyperactive 8 year old son. jcrich
Thanks Donnie! No, no kids running around. Would only be up on stand overnite. Take wheel off. Next day take and get tire mounted and balanced, re-install.
demon
I've had luck with the mentioned 2x4 with a small jack under my oil pan to lift the front. I put a little hydraulic jack under there and place a piece of wood between the jack and the pan.
