Bout time I guess.

After the first of the year I started atkins. It just made me crave real food and BEER. I was also getting scared after hearing of people with serious, permanent health issues after doing atkins hardcore. Towards the end of January I joined my local gym and started to eat healthy. Nothing crazy, just low fat, whole grain, that sorta stuff. Stopped getting 6 cheeseburgers at $.39 cheeseburger nite at McD's.

Since I've been going to the gym my knee and hip havn't hurt (late last year it would take a couple minutes for my knee to work right after sitting at my desk-I'm only 27). I'm also able to ride a lot longer and further, both onroad and off.

Diets don't work. Lifestyle changes do. What I'm doing now is something I can do for the rest of my life. I pretty much eat what I want on special occasions, but keep an eye on the long-term and eat healthy 99% of the time.

So far I'm down 44 lbs. You guys who are also doing this and have lost large amounts of weight are an inspiration.

Great story. I'm glad to hear that this is working for you.

I'm the last person who knows anything about nutrition/dieting, but this makes way too much sense. I know what I gotta do...

I know what you mean...being fat has limitations. I have no issues with any of my limbs, but I'd like to power fuck all night long. :D

Since I injured my knee, I've went down from 245 lbs (fat ass) down to 230 lbs. No changes in lifestyle or anything. My physical therapists say that sometimes this happens after a significant injury. I need to get down to 200, so I guess I'll hurt myself this winter after riding season and loose some more weight.
