Budman
Whats the latest thought's about using a master link clip or using a rivot link for our Birds???? I used to use the master link clips on my CBR 600, but having the XX now, it's got me to wondering. Your thoughts would be helpful. How about it Joe ?
Redbird
Rivet. You're putting to much power through that chain to trust a clip, and chain failures can get ugly, just ask JRed.
Pete in PA
My first replacement chain I went with a clip type. Found the clip missing twice. Luckily the link held only by friction. When I relpaced the chain I found a broken clip in the chain goo under the front sprocket cover. They were breaking off at high speed. I invested in a riveter and now I can forget about it. JRed's chain fragged his engine cases when it let go. Rivet it.
Stinger_916
I would get the riveter. I have seen the dammage a chain can do to the case, it's not pretty and costs way more to fix than the riveter costs.

Red J
...chain failures can get ugly... ...not pretty and costs way more to fix That pretty much covers it. Emphasis on the expensive. Honda engine parts are expensive, even if you get a smokin' hot deal on the cases like I did. [paranoia] I even check my rivet link periodically, and I have two spares just in case the installed one looks at me funny. [/paranoia] J.
